Honey Boo Boo

30 replies • Last post

Ok, I have come across my latest addiction: Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.

Do any of you guys watch this show? It is about a bunch of rednecks in Georgia (the state, not the country) that put their little girl in beauty pageants.

It is so ridiculous, but I can't stop watching. It is seriously like a train wreck. It reminds me that whatever I have going on in my life that is bad, it could always be worse.

Some highlights are linked here:

Honey Boo Boo's Mom Sneezing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHCPh_Ww3yk

Enjoy!

I won't do it either. i am saddened I live in a country where people like this can make money being "famous." Plus, the show it spun off from makes me sick to my stomach. Seeing little girls all made up looks so artificial, bizarre, and...well...just sad. Sad And any show where the people speak English yet need subtitles? I don't think so. Sad

I did see her "forklift toe." Oldest son has watched a few episodes and loves to bug me by saying the mom is "hot." lol I showed him the forklift toe when I came across it on another site.

I also read her diet plan in a magazine which is if you fart a certain number of times per day you lose weight. If only. lol

Anyway, this is definitely NOT my cup of tea for many reasons. And I am not big on reality shows to begin with. I can't even stand looking at the photo above.

Yes, lol! My oldest son got quite the kick out of that one, too.

Yes, I have heard they have subtitles, because they speak "redneck." What is her famous line? You better "redneckanize." lol I can't believe it Proves we are going to hell in a hand basket. Really. lol

I KNOW many watch this show and it is like a bad train wreck. I just can't force myself to watch, other than a few clips on YouTube. And forklift toe image is now burned into my brain forever. lol

No hurry on the PM, BF. Just when you have time.

I don't watch tv, but do watch some shows on the computer. I don't think I could watch this even if it was the only thing on.

I don't know why some people are fascinated by this kind of reality TV.. The morale of this country is going downhill, FAST.. it makes my stomach churn and wanna throw-up!

Haven't you noticed.. "please", "excuse me", thank you', you're welcome"... are no longer commonly used Sad

Or am I just getting old?

Y'all take care.. =^. .^=

Manners are lacking everywhere. The area I live in is terrible about manners, but I'm thinking this is how it is in big cities. When I go back to my little town, I am happy to be around nice, polite people.

I agree with all the above criticisms of that Honey BooBoo stuff. She was interviewed on inside edition I think and it was just disgusting. I have young nieces and I certainly wouldn't want them to aspire to be like Honey Boo boo or anything like that. When the Simpsons came out my son was small and I wouldn't let him watch cuz I didn't want him to aspire to be Bart. Media does matter to young minds and what inputs into their devolping minds manifests itself in their lives.

Here is Honey Boo Boo "high on caffeine." They give some of the girls pixie sticks before the pageants, and those of you who have watched or heard of this show know that Honey Boo Boo has her "go-go juice" which is a mixture of Mountain Dew and energy drink, I believe. How nice that it makes her want to go pull her mom's hair. I just don't get it, but then I have watched some shows in the past that could be considered train wrecks, too, lol. The pageant aspect of the previous show really does disturb me, even more than this family.

Lol, like I said, its a trainwreck. I am in utter shock every time I watch the show. I also get a kick out of telling my wife how I am leaving her for June Boo Boo because she is so hot.

(btw, the only way that woman would be hot is if she was on fire)

Just knowing that these ill-mannered, totally off the wall people are making some big wallet on their profound lack of polish makes me think" Hey only in America" would this type be idolized.

Slim I know you are hoping to have June make you some road-kill sketti...... Wink She could crush grapes barefoot with her forklift toe for the wine to go with the sketti. Sick

OMGosh, you are just like my oldest son! He tells me how "hot" she is, too, lol, but of course he is also kidding. He turned on an episode tonight (not sure if it was Netflix or YouTube) and I made him turn it off. I couldn't take it any longer! That poor woman visited who was trying to teach them etiquette. Yeah, right!

The dad brought home a baby pig to cheer up Honey Boo Boo since she lost her last pageant. That little pig was the CUTEST thing on the show!

And you really DO need those subtitles to understand what any of them are saying! Yikes! Sad

Ed, the next time you come to the States, I am meeting up with you and we are taking a brief road trip to the south.

I want to see how you react to what you see in some of those parts! Do you have areas like this in Australia?

OMG! Not sure if it is a rumor or joke or what, but I heard on the radio today that "Mama June" might be asked to go on Dancing with the Stars." OMG, can you IMAGINE? lmao!

I guess, through just the "busyness" of the show and no diet or exercise, Mama June has lost 100 pounds. Wouldn't that be hilarious if she lost a ton of weight, got a makeover and ended up being the woman of "Slim's (and my son's) dreams? ROFL!
