OMG~!! Someone is getting a TATTOO!

53 replies • Last post

All my life, I have opened my big mouth and said I would get a tattoo IF someone else paid for the tattoo for me. I said the only thing stopping me was that I refused to take that amount of money out of my "family money," when I could spend that same amount on a bag of groceries, a bill, etc. You get the idea.

I told my sons to go in on a tattoo for me, but I haven't talked about it for the last couple of years.

I knew my oldest son was out looking for some place to get me something the other day, because he told me he got lost. I was honestly thinking he bought me a professional massage, because we talk about that more often. Well, as you have probably guessed by now, lol, he bought me the gift card to a TATTOO place!

I used to want a little dolphin on my hip, but now that I won't strut around in a bikini anymore, lol, I am thinking of a small dolphin on the back of my shoulder, but in a little ways, so it would show if I wear a tank top or swimsuit, yet I could keep it covered when I am working or whatever or just don't want it to show.

The funniest thing would be a dachshund all the way around my ankle, like the nose touching the tip of the tail? lol But for one thing it would probably cost too much, two, it would not cover up as easily, because I wear flip flops all summer long, and third, I would probably regret it. haha! I do think it would be funny.

So, CL-Friends, I am now kind of being a chicken. Will one of you come with me and hold my hand when I get my first ink? LMAO!

And if anyone can find a photo of a cute LITTLE dolphin, send it my way. I am figuring it will cost a lot with what he gave me (which is already way more than he should have spent on me, because I told them all to THINK SMALL this year, PLUS he bought me gorgeous suede knee-high boots) , I am thinking it will be kind of small. Just because I know tattoos are not cheap. But that is all I want anyway.

Wow, I have been browsing tattoos, and there are some very impressive dachshund portrait tattoos. I can't believe how very professional some of them are. If I chose to have a portrait like that, though, I would definitely have it done on paper and not my body, lol.

I am also thinking about choosing the word HOPE instead of the dolphin. There are so many to choose from, and it is so fun to browse (and addicting, lol). Decisions, decisions! 😉 😜 🙂

Check this out! Would you tattoo your forehead for $10,000?

http://www.lolviral.com/photos/10000-goldenpalacecom-tattoo/

If not, is there ANY price you would accept to tattoo your forehead, CL-Friends? lol!

I would never tattoo my forehead. I think a dachshund tattoo would be wonderful. I like the dolphin one too. Does you gift card have a long expiration date?

I am not sure about the expiration date. Why? Do you think I need time to get up the courage? lol! I already asked oldest son to come with and hold my hand, lol. Still searching for that perfect tattoo...

I have two tattoos, and they aren't bad at all. To me it feels like a guy rubbing a dull part of a pen on a bad sunburn.

I agree, looking for designs is addicting... I am already looking for my next one, but I can't figure out what I want to do with a design.

What do you have, 'Slim? I honestly believe this will be my one and only, even though people say they are addicting, so I want to choose carefully.

This one is way too funny:

It was this form of henna that I got at the mall from a fella named Sharpie. Washed off in only 3 months... 🙂

Lol, I thought CL-Ed was kidding. Did you really do that (with the henna?) I will put one on my forehead for one million cool ones, CL-Ed! haha! 😉

'Slim, sorry for grossing you out. The one that made me queasy was a dolphin that was done over a stump where an arm used to be. The nose grossed me out, but my son thought it was "cool and creative." Something about it made ME a little queasy. I won't post a pic. lol!

I like the eagle one a lot. That had to be difficult to do and take a long time? That is really cool.

If I decide on Hope, I will probably do the entire word, the English version.

I can already tell I am going to have trouble making up my mind. I am terrible with making decisions, and this one is permanent, lol.

LOL! I haven't been feeling so hot since New Year's Day. I want to make sure I feel well when I go, plus I want to live with my decision for at least a week once I make a final decision. Don't worry. It will be SOON! lol 🙂

What does age have to do with anything? I didn't think for me, either, but ONE little tiny tattoo is going to be fun. 🙂 And, again, when I said I would never pay for one, I didn't think my sons would ever buy me one, either. What a surprise, lol. Now I have to put my money where my big mouth was. lol!

Lol! I have heard so many people say that. But for years I said I would NEVER spend my own money or family money, because the cost of a tattoo would be a bag of groceries. So, I went around saying the ONLY way I would get one is if someone gave me a gift certificate. I honestly thought my son was getting me a massage, lol, and I was very surprised that he remembered what I said all those years. I have to be careful what I say from now on, haha! And I honestly don't think I will have more than the ONE. I just can't wait until my 84-year-old mom lays eyes on my new tattoo. She will be in shock. lol! She doesn't know yet. 😉 😜

That will be awesome. I showed my grandmother mine last year. She was not a fan. At all.

I know my mom will be shocked, lol! She is not a fan of tattoos, in general, but at least I plan to have mine where it won't have to always show. I plan to have it on my back, by my shoulder, so it will show if I wear a tank top or something, but not if I wear a short sleeved shirt. That is what I am thinking so far, anyway.

As far as ideas, for years I said I would get a dolphin, because I love dolphins. But times change, and now I am thinking of the word, "Hope" in a pretty script or maybe even a rose with the word Hope. I did see a REALLY pretty rose and some nice script, too. I will have to find a photo and post it here.

I always thought it would be hilarious to get a dachshund all the way around my ankle, lol, nose touching tale, but I don't think that is something I would want forever, lol!

So those are my ideas, so far.

I can't wait to hear about your tattoo story. I'd personally recommend an avatar of CL-Ed, but I can understand the rose or Hope script.

i think the rose with hope scribed in it would be a reflection of personality (a positive one) as well as making it more personal 🙂
