Merry Christmas everyone

10 replies • Last post

Well its the end of Christmas Day here and I'm full as a boot after Xmas lunch and dinner. My kids were spoiled rotten and have so many new presents from relatives, friends, and Santa they won't know what to do with them all.

I hope everyone is having a great day with family and friends.

Merry Christmas!

Sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas Day, CL-Ed! That is funny about your children: I am sure they don't know where to start. Glad to hear they are spoiled this time of year.

We had a very nice Christmas Eve at my brother's and SIL's house, and I loved seeing my siblings and nephews and niece. Otis was such a good boy there last night. He is truly like another child at Christmas, lol. He waits patiently for his turn to open a gift, then he opens it with no help from anyone. lol

Today, my oldest son just ran off to work, so youngest and oldest opened their stockings and bigger gift, and we are waiting for my middle son and GF to join us (they could not be there last night due to work hours) for a ham dinner and gift exchange.

I only forgot one thing and there were only a few items that did not arrive on time. I was not as anxious or stressed as I am some years, so that was good. I have learned it is not worth it to get all frazzled, because it all turns out the same in the end. I enjoyed my time with extended family and still enjoying time with my boys.

We had tons of food last night, so I am not sure how I will face a ham dinner. Like you, I feel like I could stay full for days, lol.

Merry Christmas to you and yours, CL-Ed! 🙂

Quiet Christmas night here for me. Everyone has either gone home, out, or is at work. The kitchen is cleaned up, and Otis and Olivia are sound asleep. I played a few free online tournaments, and now I am watching the Nicholas Cage movie, "Stolen."

I so enjoyed my day. We had a nice dinner and played some games at the table, and we had lots of laughs. I was able to send home food and treats with middle son and GF: I really did make a lot this year, lol! I love to be able to share with them.

So, I am content. I have the tree lit up and the candles lit, pillow on the couch, jammies on, lol, and it was a wonderful two days. It is all over now until next year: or until New Year's Eve/New Year's Day. lol! I might make just a few appetizers and some fudge for that holiday, but I won't go "all out" like I did for Christmas.

I feel truly blessed this holiday season.

Happy Holidays to all! I can't wait to hear about your festivities. 🙂

LMAO! The movie is over, and I was putting it back on regular TV, changing channels, and the YULE LOG is on! Woot! LOL! So Otis and I are just vegging on the couch, watching the Yule Log, next to the tree lights and listening to the Jingle Bell Rock. The Yule Log is kind of an inside joke with our family. I forgot that had it on one channel this time of year. Too funny. 😉 🙂

We spent hours driving around car lots looking for a replacement car for the one that was totaled. We have no family here, so pretty much just another day for us. We did go see the house that has 1/4 million Christmas lights. That was pretty, but traffic was parked on both side of the road, and was getting scary, so we left.

That sounds so pretty. I would love to see something like that someday. We saw SOME lights on the way to my brother's, but I miss driving around for the purpose of looking at lights. I will have to plan that again one of these years. 🙂

What is a yule log? Mr Hanky comes to mind but I'm not sure that's what you would be sitting at home watching on the tv...

Lol! It is just like a log burning in a fireplace but on TV. It covers the entire screen, so if you are too poor to have a fireplace you can look at the "Yule Log" channel. They sell them on DVD now, too. We got one for my youngest nephew one year for Christmas, and you would have thought someone bought him a puppy he was so happy, lol!

Here is more information. You never know what someone will come up with to make a few bucks. Who knew? lol Scroll down for the video! 😉
