Another School Shooting! :(

12 replies • Last post

I am just SO sick to my stomach, and I hate that I live in a world (and a country) where this can happen. I think this is the worst I have ever heard of, as 26 are reported dead, 18 of them children, and the shooting reportedly STARTED in a kindergarten classroom.

I am so sad that for once I have no words.

It is something awfully bad... Makes you wonder what was going through his head when he decided to do this.

There are many rumors that fly around when these things first happen, but this is what I heard from the latest update. The man (who changed from 18, to 20, to 24 years old during the reports) killed his mom, who was the kindergarten teacher. His brother is in custody, some say he was hiding in the woods, and when found said, "I didn't do it!"

Supposedly the gunman (who is dead inside the building, but no reports of if it is suicide or police who killed him) has a girlfriend and another person who are missing and a person was found dead in his home.

My heart is just aching for these parents and even all the surviving children, whose lives will never be the same. Following the Oregon mall shooting, I just can't understand the "why" of any of these senseless acts.

I cannot even imagine what goes through people's heads who do things like this.

the news reports were just tragic when you could see the parents' reaction, when told they wouldn't be picking up their child. It is horrifying!!

I guess, as parents, we can kind of imagine that feeling. That real hope that our child will be one of the survivors, turning to horror when we are told that precious child did not make it.

Last night, I couldn't help myself, as I was thinking of the emergency responders and the scene of horror that will be forever imprinted on their minds. I can't even imagine having to deal with that. They told the children to close their eyes as they exited the building, but the E.R. responders must go right to that scene out of a nightmare and live with that forever. There is so much to this story that I cannot imagine, and my heart breaks with the rest of our nation and the world. Sad

Actually had to stop watching the news as much...the depression factor gets so high. No words can express!

The details of the story keep changing all the time. Here is one video I watched.

It is incredibly sad and frustrating that this sort of thing just keeps happening over and over again.

Yes, that is why when these things first happen we must wait for a few days before we believe everything we hear. I wish the media would also WAIT until they have complete AND ACCURATE details before they start reporting things as truth. Sad

Me too! What is so hard about saying they don't know, and will update when they have accurate information?
