Hello CL Friends,
Our dear member, LuckyMe, was in a car accident last night with her boyfriend. They are both okay as far as very serious injuries go, but I am worried about them both, because they both already deal with issues that involve pain. Her bf had recent surgery. They are both very sore today, of course, and their car, which was almost paid off, is completely damaged.
I will let her share details when she is up to posting, but I did want to ask for prayers, positive thoughts, "doing what you do," for Lucky Me and her BF. I remember getting into an accident one year right before Christmas, and it is just so difficult to deal with everything.
Send positive thoughts that they both heal up well and that there is no lasting damage to either of them, especially, our dear, sweet CL member, Lucky Me.

LuckyMe Forum AngelThanks everyone. I am very sore and achy. Waiting to find out if the car is totaled. They said they determine that by if the damage cost more than 80% of the worth of the car, then it's totaled. We have the driver's door bashed in, the driver's fender bashed in, the hood won't shut properly, the tire/wheel looks bent. Also the car was sputtering so I'm sure it has some engine problems.
The truck of the guy who hit us is totaled. We actually spoke to him and got a lot of details. A woman pulled out in front of him, crossing his path. He struck her, she spun around (did like a uturn) then he hit us. He tried to stop, but his foot got stuck between the gas pedal and the brake ending up with him breaking his toe, so we were hit at full force.
I worry that the reimbursement rate will not be that great. Our car is a 2005. We got it a few years ago and still owe like five payments on it. There will be little left to buy another car if it's totaled. I was so liking the idea of NOT having any more car payments.
Worse than the car, are the injuries. No broken bones, but we both are feeling the pain, whiplash from the accident.
Continued thoughts and prayers are appreciated.

THAT always sucks! Losing an entire tank of gas IS a big deal these days. I am so sorry. I hope you will be able to get into something decent and you will come out ahead somehow. Most of all, I hope you both heal a little more each day and there is no permanent damage to either you or your BF. How scary. 😢

When I had my Corolla totaled, I found a better used vehicle online and they gave me a discount and had 3 additional years to pay off.

There must be a hidden blessing. I will let you know when I find it. So far we are driving a very nice rental car, so that is blessing. I love the heated seats.

Awwww....you are so sweet, LuckyWalker. It is nice to be missed. I was out of town on a friends' trip for two days. The totally WRONG time of year to do this, believe me, but I did have fun. And if I am not on as much over the next few, it will be because I am frantically working in TWO classrooms AND doing ALL my last-minute shopping, baking, cooking, lol!
We tried out a new-to-me casino and my friends surprised me by booking a SUITE with a HOT TUB! We had a blast, but I didn't win any giant jackpots. 😢 It cost me almost nothing but my time away. I sure missed my Otis and he was very happy to see me when I got home late yesterday afternoon.
I can't wait to catch up on everything here. 🙂

Thank you, LuckyWalker, for the warm welcome and kind words. I am trying my best to stay positive, lol! I sure missed my O.T., and he was frantic when I walked through the door, crying but with lots of kisses, lol, telling me all about it. After three doses of chemo, he is doing GREAT (knock on wood!) He was just playing with toys from his toy box, and now he is curled up in the blankets. lol
I have a TON of work to do (finishing up one online class and starting another PLUS all the Christmas "stuff), but I know it will get done., I will collapse after Christmas. lol

Every year I hope for things to get easier at the holidays, and every year it gets more difficult, but the reason for that is largely my fault, due to procrastination.

LuckyMe Forum AngelThe latest from our accident. The insurance totaled our car today. We still owe on it, so that stinks. I get nauseous anytime I ride in the car now. My boyfriend has a separated shoulder and the ac thing is popped out. The doc thinks my boyfriend has a torn meniscus in his knee. He has to have an mri for his neck.
I go see my doc this week. It seems like I can feel every bump on the road now. Still have a bruise from the seatbelt.
To make things worse, I got the ambulance bills in the mail today. Insurance will pay for those though.

hope777 Forum AngelLuckyMe's mom is back in the hospital, everyone, and she had to travel home to be with her. Please send out those prayers and positive thoughts for her. She has that bleeding issue again, and they are unable to find the source. Our dear LM has just had way too much on her plate in the last year, and she really needs a break from all this and for these dark clouds to GO AWAY!

LuckyMe Forum AngelThank you both. Soon I am going to have to change my name if things don't get better. At this point, my mom is stable. They found the source of the bleeding, and hopefully that is the only one. The doctor or nurse forget to order one of her medicines which ended up in her having a pulmonary embolism. She is already improving. I am hoping she can come home in a few days. She is very weak now, because she went an entire day without food, then she was on a liquid diet for 1/2 day. Now she just doesn't feel like eating. Thanks Hope and LW.
