Horrible, Tragic Incident in Small Town in MN

13 replies • Last post

Just wanted to share this sad story, because this is the small town where my brother and SIL live, so I know at least one of my five nephews and/or my niece, probably know these kids.

Everyone usually knows everyone in a small town and high school. My mom lives about 30 miles north of this town, and we drive through this town on the way to visit her. This is also where we go for Christmas Eve.

What a totally bizarre and horrible incident.

Be sure to read the last article. I think, IMO, this guy is mentally ill. He did not call the police until the next day, because he “didn’t want to bother them on Thanksgiving.”

These poor kids and their families.

What do you all think?

Be sure to check out the LAST link to see how very sick this guy has to be. It is like something out of a horror movie. I just cannot imagine. 😢

I read it about it this weekend and thought it was tragic for the families and yes the guy seems to be shy a few puzzle pieces. The kids were in the wrong for being in the guy's home of course but he went over the top and then to wait to call the police after telling his neighbor he needed an attorney is strange.

And the fact that he kept them dead in a room for an entire day, after killing them, because he didn't want to "bother the police on Thanksgiving?" And how he called the final shot to the girl a "good, clean, finishing shot?" Yeah, they were wrong, but once he shot them both in the legs, and they were bot unarmed, they should have no longer been a threat to him. He definitely took things too far and if he wasn't crazy before, he snapped that day.

Here is a copy of the actual criminal complaint:

Here he said of the female "if you are trying to shoot someone and they laugh at you, you 'go again.'" 😢

His whole story is fishy to me.

I don't believe the girl would come down the stairs after hearing all those gun shots. He said he had time to shoot the boy, get a tarp, and move his body before the girl came down.

There are a few other things that don't add up in his story. Only the kids and him know what really happend.

I have had others comment on why the girl would go down the stairs after hearing the gun shots. Sadly, you are correct that only the two dead teens will know what really happened, and the man who killed them, too, of course. 😢

And how sad that their parents were missing them on Thanksgiving Day, as he went on with his life with their dead bodies stowed away. This is all just so sickening to me. The guy clearly was not in his right mind and/or he just snapped when he killed them.

I felt the same way. If someone is shooting, I'm getting the heck out of there and calling the police. It's not like in a movie where the suspense is seeing the person coming down the stairs. Something about the story doesn't add up. That was my gut instinct when I read it.

But, if he had a silencer on the gun and the girl didn't hear the gunshot, then I can see her going downstairs..but.........if they are robbing the house, I would think they would stay together or have a signal that they both knew when to leave.

When robbing a house, isn't the trick to get in and out without being seen? If the guy had time to get a tarp and wrap the guy up, how long were they in the house?

I don't know how long they were in the house. I know he went downstairs, and they were upstairs. I read the complaint, but I can't remember that part. It is just one big mess and huge tragedy. He could have just shot them in the legs and called the cops, and they would still be alive. Neither one had a weapon, and he shot them before he even saw their faces, saying he just saw the legs and hips when he shot, so once they fell down the stairs, first the boy, then the girl, he could see neither one was armed. 😢

He could have shot a relative if he couldn't see their faces. There are some truly evil people in this world. May he get what he deserves.
