Where is CL-Ed?

63 replies • Last post

Hey CL-Ed and Friends,

I have noticed that CL-Ed is not here as often as before, and I am just posting to make sure everything is okay. I mean, yeah, I see you stop in now and then, but not as much recently as before, if you know what I mean. I know you are probably busy with family and such, too.

Are you just busy, CL-Ed? Is everything going well? How is your arm doing? Finally healing, I hope!

Anyway, update us and let us know what is going on in your world. 🙂

We miss you!

This is kind of like Where's Waldo? lol

I just wanted to add that I am not being nosy, I am just genuinely wondering how things are going. 🙂

Yeah, I miss hearing from CL-Ed when he's not here. I bet he is on vacation somewhere, or moving back into the remodeled house, or maybe he already did that. Anyway, hope you are doing well CL-Ed.

You guys are too perceptive! I have been hit with the worst cold I have had in years. I have been bed-ridden since last Wednesday and only dragged my sorry butt out of bed today to try to get some work done. I've had a headache and blocked sinuses, coughing, a feeling of weakness all over etc. Pretty much your standard cold symptoms but about 5x worse than what I can remember.

It was one of those things my darling kids passed on to me. They got sick for a day or two then they were right as rain but it takes me out for almost a week. Even now I'm not quite right, but I'm about 80%. Thanks for the concern!

I hope you are completely well soon CL-Ed. Colds can be really bad especially in summer here, but sounds like you had a cold on steroids.

I just sensed that something was going on, and I was worried about your arm again.

Sorry you have been sick. Sounds like you were hit by a helluva virus. I HATE those type that hang on and on. Sinus infection, maybe? I know that wipes me out completely, too. Did you go to the doctor or just ride it out at home? I hate going in, only to be told I have a virus and I have to go home and rest, because who has time for that? 🤷 Of course, sometimes one does not have a choice.

Seems like the older I get the more I get those types that hang on forever, when I DO get sick. And, yes, I remember my dear sons bringing home all kinds of things to share with me (strep, colds, flu, and so on).

Keep moving forward, drink lots of fluids, and take it easy so you don't get a relapse, because it sounds like you are on the mend.

TAKE CARE! 🙂

I jut stuck it out at home because I figured I just had what my kids had, and the doctor had given them the good old "go home, rest, drink lots of water" thing.

I still have a little cough now and then but I'm mostly better!

I'm catching the old bug now, or at least something is wrong with me (more so than usual my wife says).

I have pain in my lower right abdomen area and am sweating something awful. I had a double sports hernia a few years back and am hoping that its not that again.

Good to see you are feeling better though Ed. Stay on the mend!

Slim I hope you are feeling better soon. Do you still have your appendix? Those were the symptoms my son had when he had to have his removed a few years back. He was vomiting though. If you start that make sure you seek medical attention because its dangerous if ya wait too long!!!
And CL-Ed happy to know the bug has vacated. 😀

My friends who work in the schools are all getting sick. That is one thing I do NOT miss about the classroom. I caught EVERYTHING.

I hope you get that checked out, 'Slim. Please keep us posted.

CL-Ed, I know what you mean about just being sent home to "rest," and who has time for that? lol (Although sometimes we don't have a choice). Make those little ones wait on Daddy. lol Continued healing!

this is my daughter's first year teaching and of course right off the bat she caught a germ. She loves her job sooo much though that they had to make her go home and then Grandma and I had to go pick her up cuz she was on the side off the road too dizzy to drive. she is one dedicated little educator.

CL-Ed did you wash your hands before you came back into the forum? I think I caught a whiff of your cold. 😢 I took some extra vitamins, plenty of water, chicken noodle soup, and rested. Feeling better already.

Hope your side is not hurting you any longer Slim. Keep us updated. 🙂

Blah! I ended up in the Emergency Room at the hospital yesterday due to my abdominal pain, sweating, and nauseous feeling. I had a double hernia a few years back and they think that I may have another one, but aren't quite sure what to do yet.

Thankfully they have given me some Vicodin to get me feeling better for the time being, however my pain is getting bad without it and my doctor told me that they don't like to go in and do a second repair... so I am either going to hope that it goes away or deal with a long term pain killer to see what happens.

Oh, they also told me that my liver enzymes are very high, and seeing as how I don't drink a lot (a beer every few weeks) that I have to go back in for more testing to make sure something else isn't really THAT wrong with me.

I love getting old!

Glad you know what the pain is, but still not much change if they can't operate, right? 😢 You will be in my thoughts that everything comes out fine with the liver enzyme tests.

Oh, wow. I know what you mean. I feel like I am constantly running to appointments, and I used to never go to the doctor.

I am worried for you, so please DO keep on keeping us posted. Sorry you are in so much pain, but glad you have some temporary relief.

Get well and stay well EVERYONE! 🙂

Hi luckwalker. I am glad your daughter went home! I NEVER wanted to miss a day, just because I would get so far behind when I returned, lol. That is awesome that she is loving her job, though. We need more teachers who truly love their jobs and will make a difference in the lives of their students. 🙂 I hope she feels better soon.

Hope, Thanks for the get well wishes for my daughter and yes she is feeling much better and is so excited as she was asked to help with home-coming and is now on the Junior class advisory committee @ her school. She is a fantastic teacher and inspires her students daily. They just had parent teacher conferences and quite a few of the parents(most I imagine) said that their kids talk about her and her class and how much they look forward to being there. This mommy is VERY proud (can you tell) 😉

I know this is a double-post but I got so caught up in my bragging rights 😀 that I forgot to say " I hope you are feeling much better Slim and that you don't need too much Vicodin to get you thru as that isn't always healthy either. Please keep us posted and I am sending healing Karmic energy to you whereever you are." 😉

Thanks for the energy, I am trying to keep warm up here in Michigan but it is quickly getting cold here.

I had my blood tested on Saturday and should hear in a few days about my liver. I am still in quite a bit of pain and starting to run low on Vicodin, so my doc may have to find a long term solution for the hernia.

Thanks for the positive energy and thoughts guys!

No way! I live in the same area too. We really are almost neighbors!

I got my tests back a while ago and it turns out I have Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease. I have to try to drop a little bit of weight and exercise to make sure things get back to normal (hopefully).

I do believe that we have to take caution with pain meds, but I also believe they serve a purpose when we take them for what they are intended for. Sometimes, it comes down to quality of life.

Anyway, I am glad you found answers so quickly. That doesn't always happen in this day and age of doctors "practicing" medicine, lol.

I do biofeedback and acupuncture for pain. I am thinking some of your meditation or even some guided imagery could help you when the pain is out of control. I posted a link in your thread about meditation. Just a thought, because I understand pain.

So is that the only think you can do for this condition? (Losing the weight and exercising?). I have heard of this before, but I don't know much about it.

Anyway, feel better soon!

And, BTW, how is your wife doing?

We are all (Lucky Me, too) from the Midwest. I say we win big enough jackpots to take a road trip to meet at a land casino someday. Can you imagine? The place wouldn't know what hit 'em! 😂 🥳

Lol!

Oh my gosh, now it is MY turn to be getting sick. I woke up Monday morning with a deep chest cough and it is getting worse each day. I am going to volunteer today, but only for two hours instead of three to four, then come home and REST, finally. I had something every day this week, so I am going NO WHERE tomorrow. I am sooooo sick. 😢

Today was the worst, so far. Monday and Tuesday once I went out I would kind of forget about it. Today, not so. Thankfully, I can finally stay home tomorrow and even Friday if I want to. I am so relieved that I don't HAVE TO do anything tomorrow. Worse in the morning and at night, which is often the case with these things, but today.....yeah, it was a rough day.

I just hope and pray none of my sons get this, but especially middle son who I took to lunch on Tuesday. I DID leave it up to him, but with it going to the chest, that worries me, because he has asthma. I honestly would feel SO guilty if he gets sick now, but you are right that I think there is a lot of "crud" going around. One of my youngest son's doctors actually diagnosed him with "the Minnesota crud" one time, lol! Another word for "virus, and there is nothing we can do for you, go home and rest," lol.

Thank you for the well wishes. I am sure it will just take time, fluids, and rest.

I was in bed most of the day yesterday. I was sick earlier this month, seemed to improve, then got sick again. You sound a lot worse than me Hope. I'm sure it will just take me another day or two to rest.

I am spraying this thread with Lysol.
