Big Brother or "lots of Little Brothers?" will soon be watching us (or already are).

Very true. I always say with all we DO know that shocks us, imagine all that we do NOT know. I shiver to think of the answer to that.

A lot of people have already voluntarily given up their privacy by publicly posting every meaningless tidbit of their lives on Facebook or Twitter or [insert current popular social network].

This sort of thing sucks but what can you do to stop it? The majority of people couldn't care less and then you have the fools with the "if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to worry about" attitude. We've already seen where that has gone with all the terrorism paranoia and resulting impingements on people's lives in the name of "security".

Pretty scary stuff... but it is also pretty cool as well!

I find it amazing they can pull this stuff off in technology. All the neat things people can do in this world, but there are so many (seemingly) trivial things that cannot be solved. After knowing that we put a man on the moon, it seems that nothing is impossible; you just need to the will to get it done.

What is the next big advance you guys see coming?

Yeah some of this new tech is mind blowing considering I grew up with a rotary phone only 30 years ago or so. Gee that makes me feel old!

One thing about the next big advance is for sure - I won't see it coming. I still can't work out why people use Facebook! 😉

Maybe FB was developed so it will seem normal to let everyone know what you are doing all the time. Giving away private info as if it's nothing and doesn't matter. 🤷

We are definitely living our lives out loud in this day and age.

I have no idea what the next big thing will be.I,for one, never thought pencil and paper would be so obsolete.Technology changes so fast that it is out of date before I even learn how to use it.As for Facebook,it seems the trend to publish every time one goes to the bathroom, etc.,and I think it is silly, although I get on FB to see what my gkids are doing.

Twitter can be the same, lol. Recording every move one makes. I call it "living our lives out loud." Will it help us become more or less tolerant of one another? There are those who believe the former, but IDK.
