Any Breaking Bad or Weeds Fans?

Just watching the third episode of the new season of Weeds, and last night was the season premiere of my favorite show: Breaking Bad! All hail King Heisenberg! lol!

Not sure if there are any watchers of either show here, but I thought I would post just in case.

BB is very disappointing to me, though, because they were granted 16 more episodes. They first said they would do eight episodes, then wait four months, then do the final eight. The other day I read they are doing eight then waiting until NEXT SUMMER for the final eight! 😢 VERY disappointing to have to wait that long for a finale when we know it is coming.

I had two huge surprises already just watching that first episode. GREAT show! Just SO well done!

So I finally saw the ending last week now. Potential SPOILERS AHEAD.

It was good to see the show come to a proper conclusion. No leaving things open for another season, and not another show that is cancelled and left unfinished. I think the writers did well in the way the characters evolved. When it first started I found myself feeling sympathy for Walter despite what he was doing, but the longer it went on the less I liked him and the things he was doing. He really did turn into a bit of a monster didn't he? Hank and Pinkman were annoying guys but I really felt sorry for both of them in the end, and it was good that Jesse got away (maybe?). Saul Goodman was my favourite though. What a loveable dirtbag.

Did you know there is a spinoff being planned with Saul Goodman? I have loved Bob Odenkirk for years, even before Breaking Bad, so I hope they pull it off. I also hope they keep Bill Burr (Kuby) and Lavelle Crawford (Huell) on the show. I am really excited for that one, so I hope they follow through!

Congrats on making it to the end. Now you don't have to plug your ears and close your eyes anymore, lol. I liked Jesse throughout the series, because unlike Walt, he seemed to have a heart and soul. I was SO pleased he was able to give Todd the final send off. I also really liked the actors who played Gus and Mike. What did you think of the end of Gus? lol That scene was so shocking at the end of that season.

The final season did for me what I thought the show could no longer do: make me feel a LITTLE sorry for Walt after all. Vince Gilligan said he was turning "Mr. Chips into Scarface," and I believe he accomplished that or close to it. Some criticized the finale for being too "neat," and "tied up on a bow," but I thought it absolutely perfect. I would not have changed a thing. Yes, there was the potential for things to go wrong, but sometimes things DO go right (like the keys dropping in Walt's lap and the car starting and the machine gun working).

I LOVE that Jesse drove off happy, because he was miserable the entire final season. I hope he goes and finds Brock, lol. I love the end of Lydia and her Stevia, lol. And my son got his wish wanting to see Badger and Skinny Pete in the finale (and I got mine which involved Jesse getting Todd) and I LOVED the scene with Gretchen and Elliot: perfect and FUNNY!

There is SO much more I could say. I could honestly go on forever. This show was GENIUS in my opinion. I LOVED the song chosen for the final scene, and yes, in spite of myself, I cried. Not just for the end of Walt, but for the end of the show.

Haha that Family Guy clip is hilarious. So true. 😂

I really like the Saul character but I'm not convinced about a spin-off series. I'll give it a go and hope I am pleasantly surprised as spin-offs almost always suck.

The Gus death scene was like Breaking Bad meets the Walking Dead for a bit there. Its funny you mentioned Badger and Skinny Pete because I laughed when Walt is describing how he hired Albuquerque's most deadly hitmen and then it pans out to show them sitting in the trees with a pair of laser pointers. I thought for sure that they would end up dead at some point but they made it all the way through. My only minor disappointment was that Marie managed to drag her whinging, whiny self through the whole show unscathed. I really couldn't stand her.

So you are a Marie hater. Why didn't you like the "purple rose of Albuquerque?" lol! I didn't like the way Hank treated her, and she did have her issues, but I didn't have strong feelings against her. Funny it took me watching over half the show to realize everything in her house and most of what she wore was purple. I guess I am not a very observant person. lol

At least not a Skyler hater. Wow, were them some nasty posts out there by the trolls, that ended up with Anna Gunn even writing an article about all the Skyler haters. I forgot to say in my other message, I was THRILLED BB finally won the Emmy, and I was especially thrilled that Anna Gunn finally received the Emmy she SO deserved, IMO. She has come a long way since she was in Deadwood. She did go all Heisenberg there for a while toward the end. She was smart to realize when Walt was calling her all the names on the phone he was doing it because the police were there and he was trying to separate her from all criminal activity.

Another awesome scene was the time we see all that money (Skyler shows Walt) and How much is enough? Another is when Huell and Kuby lie down on top of the money, lol! The standing joke was Huell is still sitting in that safe house waiting for Hank and Gomey to come back, lol

The scene with Gus even turned my sons' stomachs the first time they watched that. It was pretty wild. Hector sure looked him in the eye in the end (BTW they had a BB auction and that bell went for like over 3,000, maybe more)

Yeah, love Badger and Skinny Pete. Love how they told Walt they might have trouble "morally" with what they did....until Walt handed them their money "to make them feel better about it." lol

I guess many did NOT make it through to the end. I REALLY liked Mike, and I was so sad when Walt killed him. I wanted Mike to get away. Not sure why I liked him so much, but I did.

Yeah, my friend showed me that video when I WAS recommending the two shows in another forum, lmao! It was PERFECT for me (and many, I guess, lol).

Next post I will have to tell you about my sons and I little Breaking Bad finale "party," because we had made a pact to watch the finale together, so I tried to make it a little fun.

So glad you finally got through the show. What is next on your list? 🙂

I had not noticed that Marie was so into purple either. I know she never really did anything wrong aside from her compulsive addiction to shoplifting but she just rubbed me the wrong way. I know it sounds crazy when you're comparing her to scheming, meth-cooking, murdering psychopaths.

Now that you mentioned Huell sitting there in that room waiting that reminds me of my favourite scene. When he turns up at Ted's house and Ted tries to run away, slips on the rug and ends up in hospital with a neck brace. And then later on Saul and Walt are arguing about what happened and Huell just shrugs as if to say it wasn't my fault.

Check this out, someone with waaay too much time on their hands made an hour long video of Huell sitting in that room waiting for Hank to come back.

Next up I have to get back into The Walking Dead. I haven't watched any of the new season yet.

LMAO! I saw that video before the finale. Poor Huell, lol! We learned more about Huell AND Kuby in the episode than we knew during the entire show.

As far as Marie, sometimes that happens with certain characters. Happened to me with Debra on Dexter: especially in the beginning. She drove me crazy! lol

Funny you mention Ted, because I had to "eat crow" in regard to that scene. I was 100% certain he was dead. And I think we had to wait until the next season to find out he wasn't. Anyway, people in the forums were saying he was probably still alive, and I was telling my sons how stupid those posters were, because OF COURSE he did not survive and he died! lol! Imagine my surprise when the next season Saul started talking about Ted in the present tense. I thought the people who posted he was alive were being ridiculous, lol!

I DID like the scene when Kuby and Huell showed up at the house. I LOVE Bill Burr (Kuby). They both have awesome stand up on YouTube and there is a Bill Burr special on Netflix (also some very funny clips of him on Conan).

Another scene I loved was when Kuby is feeding Skyler the laws about the car wash as she is talking to the "big eyebrow car wash guy." That was genius.

My favorite episodes were:

One minute
Half Meaures
and
Crawl Space

I love that final shot in Crawl Space that is a foreshadowing to the finale. I think there was some pretty freaking awesome acting going on with Brian Cranston and Anna Gunn during that scene. Yes, the role of Cranston's lifetime. It is fun to see him in movies now, but he will never find another show like BB. I also read that Aaron Paul is really missing Cranston.

Did you watch the video where Cranston is reading his craziest fan letter? I think I posted it in this thread. If you didn't watch it yet, you have to see it. He is on Conan. You can also go to Youtube and put in "Bryan Cranston fan mail on Conan" or something similar. Or you can ask me to repost the link. It is way too funny.

Have fun catching up on TWD! 🙂

You are going to be so glad you did! Do you watch on Netflix?

I am going to have to eventually buy the boxed sets, because there are so many extras I have already heard about that I will have to see (can't talk about them here without spoilers).

I am SO happy the show (and Anna Gunn) finally both received very deserving Emmy's. It is still my second ATF show.

Check out Bryan Cranston reading a most unusual fan letter (NO Spoilers) (With Aaron Paul and Conan) LMAO!

Lol! I LMAO! Conan's sidekick was almost funnier than the fan mail, lol! (Can't think of his name right now) when he thought the letter was from a guy. haha! 😉
