I have been watching this story for months now, and especially over the past few days.
I am still sick to my stomach over all this, and I am so pleased that the jurors paid attention to this wounded young people whose lives will never be the same.

Good. Throw the book at him.

He must have been truly deranged if he thought he would get away with it. I probably would have taken my own life as soon as I heard the verdict was in if I was in his position.

I feel so bad for those kids and their families. Imagine the negative impact he has had on so many people's lives.

'Slim, whenever I hear stories of child sexual or physical abuse, I can't help but think of how strong those PARENTS (and "victims!") must be to NOT take justice into their own hands. I honestly don't want to think about what I would have done to someone if they had touched one of my sons when they were growing up. What a horrible thing to have happen. And so many hide it and are ashamed when it is not even their fault. Yes, he messed up so many lives, and I think his wife is just as sick as he is. I could care less what happens to him. I think all people who mistreat children should be tortured, and I am NOT a violent person. So tragic.

I am a very compassionate person, but I have no sympathy at all for him. I think he got LESS than he deserves. There is something wrong with someone like him that I don't think can be fixed. It's totally disgusting that other people knew and did nothing. Too many rich, influential, people get away with a slap on the hand. Just think how many people's lives he ruined or changed.

I saw this in the newspaper the other day and thought it was appropriate for this discussion.

I've actually read about this guy before because of a recent case in Australia that was similar. The most disgusting thing for me is not this guy who is obviously sick in the head, but its the fact that he was caught and it was covered up by his boss. I don't know how you could live with yourself if you knew that was going on but you decided not to say anything. Utterly gutless.

I also read that the trial was rushed up because some didn't want the public to know how far this rabbit hole goes. A big sex ring was busted in the US recently. I think there were over 70 kids found. Most were girls and two boys. Disgusting........sex slaves.

Wow, I agree with that 100 percent. As a teacher, I am a mandatory reporter, and I have reported issues in the past even if I had the LEAST bit of suspicion of any type of abuse. I mean, honestly, I would rather error on the side of caution, for exactly the reasons you name. I could never live with myself if I let something a kid said to me slide, then that child ended up hurt even more in the future.

I agree those who covered it up are as guilty as the person who did this to those poor young boys. 😢

That breaks my heart. We say we value children in this country, but do we really? We don't take very good care of your children, too often. 😢

I think a lot of people value children. It's just that there are a lot of sick people in this world who don't have the ability to care about anyone. It seems like all we ever hear is how bad everyone is. Where is the news about good people? I know there are good people in the world. We have good people here.
