Why Mother's Day founder came to hate her creation (can you guess why?):

My wife requested a day alone! She got it as me and my kids went down to see my Mom. They both loved their time away/with their kids... 😜

A day alone can be a wonderful gift! It's peaceful, easy to relax or you can turn the radio up full blast. You can watch a romantic movie, read a book, take a bubble bath. That was great of you to give your wife some time alone Slim.

Mrs CL-Ed wanted a bit of time to herself too!

That article Hope posted had lots of interesting stats and facts, like this one:

Quote:

Jacob and Isabella

The most popular baby names for boys and girls, respectively, in 2010.

My wife tells me this is because they are 2 of the main characters in the Twilight books / movies.

There is no hope for humanity. That is the first thought I had after I read this.

Number of mothers who were due child support in 2009-------38%! Wow! Those are some interesting statistics Hope. I too think it has been too commercialized. It's almost a sin if you don't buy or give you mom something for Mother's Day.

I wish all the moms who wanted to could stay home and raise their children. I think the world would be a much better place.

I'm sure she is right. People seem to be so influenced by tv and movies. If someone has a dog on tv or a movie then it seems there is an increase of sales of that breed of dog for awhile. People can't seem to think for themselves a lot of the time.

Yes. I know exactly where you're coming from on that. I hope no-one here has just innocently named their kid one of those names though!

Those are nice (and pretty) names, though, and I believe they were popular even before the Twilight books, especially Jacob. However, I am sure there are more now, lol
