What do you think? Is Friday the 13th bad luck? 😉

Ha - I didn't even realise.

Saturday the 14th was not a lucky one for me. Our car got swiped while parked by an idiot in a rental truck who was moving house. So now we have to put in a claim, get it repaired, get a hire car etc next week. What a pain. Technically it was probably still Friday the 13th where you live though!

That stinks CL-Ed. No one was in it then? I don't pay much attention to Friday the 13th as being unlucky. It seems everything is the same for me on that day.

I do know people who are superstitious though and will not go out on Friday the 13th.

Oh, wow, CL-Ed, I am really, really sorry to hear this. What a PAIN! 😢 I am really glad no one was hurt, but I also know what a hassle it is to go through something like that.

Take care and stay safe!

Yeah, I don't pay much attention to Friday the 13th, either. I think I told you before that I will joke and say that all the other days are unlucky for me, so Friday the 13th may actually be my "lucky" day. lol Truly, I don't pay that much attention, except for the fun of it. Surprising how some people DO take it so seriously.

I know I once knew the origin of this superstition, but I have forgotten. Is it just that 13 is the unlucky number, but why Friday the 13th? Because it comes along so rarely? Now I have to go do my research, lol. That would be a good trivia question!

Actually my wife and kids were in the car while this idiot hit it. They weren't hurt or anything, just a bit shook up and mystified over how a person could try to turn left into a driveway and hit a parked car instead.

I actually had this happen last fall by my new neighbors who were moving into their house. I was unaware that they were moving in and had my car LEGALLY parked in the street.

Instead of coming and asking to me to move my car, they tried their luck and ended up putting $1,500 worth of damage into my rear driver's side door.

The only good thing is that the car was parked and my insurance didn't require me to pay a deductible. I hope that it is the same for you.

OMGosh, that is so scary! I am so happy they were not hurt, but it still had to be frightening for them!

Now that is really odd. Glad they are ok.

Yes we don't have to pay anything for insurance because we were parked in a legal spot. Its more the annoyance factor of losing the car for a day or two while it gets fixed.

Good to hear its nothing out of pocket for you. I have a couple of stories of buddies who didn't have good insurance and got screwed by bad luck.

Interesting that other days and dates are considered "bad luck" in other countries and cultures.

Also, interesting that fewer crimes and accidents happen on Friday the 13th, mainly from people being more careful or even staying home, lol!

That was good. Thanks for posting.
