I remember seeing this a few years back. I would love to do this, and yes, the man is totally insane!

But hey, what good is money if you don't spend it, right?

The video link doesn't work for me - it goes to some feminist talking about "reclaiming the F word!".

But anyway if it is what I think its actually a really old one. It happened back in 2005 or so. The thing is the guy was being filmed for a TV documentary while doing it and obtained sponsorship and loads of media interest before the bet so I expect that he would have been paid something even if he lost. It was a publicity stunt more than a real bet and not quite the same as risking everything all or nothing. So not only was he sane, but he was a smart publicist.

And I found it on youtube just now where people are making fun of AOL for running a 7 year old story yesterday!

Well, AOL's heyday was back several years ago... maybe they are just trying to recapture the magic 😜

Oops! They certainly DID make it sound as if this just happened. He sold everything he owned, then bet his entire life savings on RED. I would probably have a heart attack before the ball landed on ANY color, lol!

Sorry about the link, CL-Ed. lol I didn't have to put you through THAT. haha! 😉

There is no way I would ever bet everything I owned. I am way too cautious for that. Did he win or lose?

CL-Ed, that is strange, because I just copied and pasted the link and it went right to the video. Did you try copying and pasting it?

If you copy and paste the link you can watch the celebration, although I guess I posted really old news, lol! I just thought is was a crazy story. I would never be that brave/foolish. He said he flew to the states to do this, so I wonder where he is from?

I think he was from the UK. From memory he played on an American roulette wheel which (if he did) was fairly stupid because it has both a 0 and a 00 pocket, giving you an extra chance of losing.
