*NEW* Guess the Lyrics Game

118 replies • Last post
Click to show this thread's original post ▼

Here is another copycat game that I thought might be fun! We just keep needing MORE PLAYERS TO GET INVOLVED in our game forum, so please do join us, everyone!

Someone will post lyrics to any song. The person who guesses the song title and artist will select the next song.

You can use any lyrics from the song; it can be the beginning of the song, middle.

DO NOT post your lyrics until the person who posted the lyrics you guessed comes in and confirms you are correct, please! Just easier that way.

Let's see how long we can keep this going and let's see who can do it without surfing the Internet for the answer! Even if you are wrong, it's going to be fun trying. (If you get really tempted or you do not have a single clue, I guess you can Google, but try hard to not have to do so, even if you guess and get it wrong).

I will try to make the first one an easy one, to get us started. 🙂

Name the artist and song title for the following lyrics:

When they said you was high-classed,
Well, that was just a lie.
When they said you was high-classed,
Well, that was just a lie.
You ain't never caught a rabbit
And you ain't no friend of mine. 😉

I think I sent you the link to the video. Maybe in the "make me smile" thread? I do love the song and the video. The song makes me very happy, and I love the places he visits in the video. The scenery is SO incredible.

I'll light the fire
You put the flowers in the vase
That you bought today

Staring at the fire
For hours and hours
While I listen to you
Play your love songs
All night long for me
Only for me

That IS a good song. I like a few by CS&N.

This is one of my older ATFs: 🙂

Childhood living is easy to do
The things you wanted, I bought them for you
Graceless Lady you know who I am
You know I can't let you slide through my hands

Rings no bells at all. I will let it sink in until tomorrow. It's different reading the words instead of hearing them sung.

I agree! It is very different. They have this bit on a radio show where the hosts father calls in and he reads different lyrics, like to rap songs and so on and it sounds so funny when the older man reads them out loud, especially SOME of those lyrics, lol!

The lyrics are from a band I was absolutely crazy about when I was a teenager and in my early 20s even.

What If It All Means Something

Well I'm no angel, now, I'll admit
I made a few bad moves I should regret
I hurt you once or so you said
Just one more chance is all you get

I found "Walk on Water," by Eddie Money? Is that correct?

Here are some new lyrics:

"Now some folks say it's too big
And uses too much gas
Some folks say it's too old
And that it goes too fast
But my love is bigger than a Honda
It's bigger than a Subaru
Hey man there's only one thing
And one car that will do
Anyway we don't have to drive it
Honey we can park it out in back
And have a party in your ............"

Great!

"Now some folks say it's too big
And uses too much gas
Some folks say it's too old
And that it goes too fast
But my love is bigger than a Honda
It's bigger than a Subaru
Hey man there's only one thing
And one car that will do
Anyway we don't have to drive it
Honey we can park it out in back
And have a party in your ............"

*Hint: If you complete the last line of this verse, you have the title to the song. 🙂

It's funny because I've heard those words a hundred times but without the tune, it just doesn't register with me. I love Bruce Springstein.

Late at night Im takin you home
I say I wanna stay, you say you wanna be alone
You say you dont love me, girl you cant hide your desire
`cause when we kiss, fire

You had a hold on me, right from the start
A grip so tight I couldnt tear it apart
My nerves all jumpin actin like a fool
Well your kisses they burn but your heart stays cool

It is definitely different to read lyrics aloud without the tune. I agree!

I love this song..........

I keep a close watch on this heart of mine
I keep my eyes wide open all the time
I keep the ends out for the tie that binds
Because you're mine,

I did too. They were both pretty good at singing. I didn't know how much Johnny Cash loved his wife.

A bad little kid moved into my neighborhood
He won't do nothing right just sitting down and looks so good
He don't want to go to school and learn to read and write
Just sits around the house and plays the rock and roll music all night
Well, he put some tacks on teachers chair
Puts some gum in little girl’s hair
Hey, junior, behave yourself

Bad Boy - The Beatles

I actually had to look this one up, because I couldn't figure it out, and I know a ton of Beatles songs, lol.
