Oh, YAY! I was going to ask about this, but I hate to bother you, because I know how busy you are. Thank you for doing this. Go ahead and deduct my chips. I will be posting my winners soon. 😉

Okay. I will be the first to give this is a try. This is not necessarily who I WANT to win, but this is who I think will win. Well, I guess there are a few categories that apply to both.

Director: Michel Hazanavicius (The Artist)
Actor in a Leading Role: George Clooney (The Descendants)
Actress in a Leading Role: Viola David (The Help)
Actor in Supporting Role: Christopher Plummer (Beginners)
Actress in Supporting Role: Octavia Spencer (The Help)

I think I covered them all. That is it unless I change my mind, lol!

Best Picture: Moneyball

Directing: Woody Allen (Midnight in Paris)

Actor In a Leading Role: Gary Oldman (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy)

Actress In a Leading Role: Glenn Close (Albert Nobbs)

Actor In a Supporting Role: Kenneth Branagh (My Week With Marilyn)

Actress In a Supporting Role: Octavia Spencer (The Help)

however, my favourites are different ones, but so far, my favourites have never become the winners 😕

I know what you mean,. SG! I do want both actresses to win for The Help, though. Those are both wants and predictions. However, Melissa McCarthy could very well be the "dark horse" for Bridemaids, but I kind of doubt it. I would be surprised, but you never know! Thanks for playing! CL-Ed, I hope you enjoy The Help as much as I did! The movie is almost as good as the book! I hope to watch a few more before the awards, too. I really wanted to see that Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.

I will donate 10 chips to the pot eve though I'm not entering. I haven't seen any of these movies. I don't even know some of these actors. It will be fun to see who gets the nominations right though. 🙂 Good luck everyone.

LuckyMe, if you are donating anyway, then what do have to lose to enter? Nothing! 🙂 Just do a little online research. You are REALLY good at that OR just go with your intuition for the fun of it. We need more competition, so think about that, please, my dear. 🙂

Hope, do you think there are any trailers online? I will do a search and see. Maybe I can guess from those. I'm sure George Clooney will win something.

LuckyMe, there are not only trailers, but there are Oscar Prediction articles, where you can read who the author of the article thinks will win and why. You can do a little studying/research, or like I said, go with your intuition. Just saying if you are going to donate your chips, you may as well be in the running. Nothing to lose if you are already donating, right? 🙂

I do think this is Clooney's year, but we never know! 😉

Yay! We are getting more competition. LuckyMe, hurry up as you have only a few more days now. 😉 Like we said, cannot hurt to try.

I still want to try to watch a few more of the nominated films before Sunday, and time is flying by! I have found some online, but not all. I REALLY want to see the artist after seeing clips and watching interviews with the actress.

Yes, those "dark horses" can sneak up and grab the award. We have been surprised by choices/votes before. I am wondering about Melissa McCarthy being a dark horse in that category.

I have not seen Hugo yet, but I will try to find it. I really wanted to see The Artist, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, and The Tree of Life BEFORE Sunday, but I am not sure I will find them all. The Tree of Life is on Project Free TV if anyone is looking. I started it, but it was late, and it is a longer film. Time is running out. So many movies, so little time, lol!

I really hope you are correct that The Help will win. That would be my first choice if I was one of the voters. I also liked Jonah Hill's performance in Moneyball.
