Since we have EPL and CL topics all ready I thought it could be a good idea to have one thread for all of the other top (or not) domestic football leagues.

Another upset for Bayern in the Bundesliga but still after the so shaky start they sitting second in the table just 4 points behind the leaders Dortmund..long way to go there.

Amazed to see how good Frankfurt doing in their first season without Kovac..saw a fractions from their game away to Stuttgart who really looking terrible at the moment.

Well Bayern are 7 behind now after Dortmund beat them 3-2 on the weekend. Another win for Frankfurt who have hit form at last and now even they are ahead of Bayern on goal difference. I'll enjoy it while it lasts! lol

I wonder how long the suits are going to tolerate this run of results from Kovac?

No idea Ed, but probably they'll give him a bit of time.

Even though the results are far from great I think he's a young and perspective coach and probably Bayern management have a huge plans for him, I won't be surprised if they give him at least one full season never-mind the results...I would of...anyway...but of course if the results are really disastrous...he might hit the road earlier.

I saw just the last 15-20 minutes of the game but it's been just on time for the Dortmund comeback and the last couple of goals they scored, almost every attack of the home side looked quite dangerous and Bayern really struggling at the back for the moment.

Wow..another weird result for Bayern and sitting 5th now 9 points of the leader Dortmund...refuse to still write them off already though,we're just 12 weeks in!

Eintrach continue to impress...you must be happy Ed..they are 2nd now.

And what an embarrassing result for Real M 3-0 loss to Eibar!!
Despite all the failures they're just 5 points behind the leaders Barcelona who are not convincing themselves..I regret about their late equalizer against Atletico, it would of make the race even more interesting I believe.

Yeah I am loving the Bayern shenanigans. Surely they have to start playing well sooner or later, so I'll just keep enjoying it while it lasts. They just drew with Dusseldorf 3-3 who were bottom of the league - a month ago Frankfurt beat them 7-1. What made it even better on the weekend was that they conceded an equaliser maybe 2 seconds before the end of injury time, and it was the Dusseldorf striker's hat trick.

Frankfurt are actually third, with Monchengladbach three points ahead in second. Dortmund have a healthy 4 point lead already.

It looks to me like Real Madrid are falling apart without Ronaldo. Obviously he is one of the all time greats so any team he leaves is going to be worse off, but maybe they became a bit complacent and too reliant on him while he was there?

Yeah, I'm enjoying the moment my self..still that could be the best chance for Dortmund or any other team to be a champion maybe in a good few years to come...so they should grab it really

Sure, I wrote that at the Saturday evening when Gladbach still haven't played their game so obviously they're second now but still a great looking placement for Eintracht in the standings , do you believe they could hold on to a top 4 spot till the end...with a teams like Bayern and Leipzig just behind them that would it be quite tough..isn't it?

To be honest I didn't even saw one full length game of theirs this season Ed, so can't be really sure but I think you're on the spot with that..not that they were good enough in the league for the past 5-6 seasons even with the Portuguese.
Probably it's a stupid assumption from my side but we could only guess how many of their 3 straight CL trophies wouldn't be gained without Ronaldo being the savvier there time and time again with his late goals...yeah I would guess - not more than 1 but I'm tend to believe they could of not hold to neither one of them.

It won't be easy fro Frankfurt but of course they can do it. Maybe that's not an unbiased opinion though!

PSV lost 2-1 to Feyenoord and it was their first loss in the league this weekend. And this happened when they might have equalised...

// video removed, it was the fans throwing another ball onto the field to stop the opposition from scoring

Yeah...quite curious one Ed...but despite how furious the PSV players might of been I think the right ball have been in the feet of the Feyenord defender who cleared it after the initial save from the keeper so in fact the second ball doesn't influenced the play at all..despite the PSV players arguments..and the bad joke from a Feyenoord supporter, apparently.

I rarely see La Liga games but yesterday I've been seeing both Real and Barcelona games.

Looking at Real and how poor they're right now I just wonder how the hell they won 3 CL cups in a row, sitting 5 th in the League now and I guess it wouldn't be long before another coaching change being made there.

Barcelona won theirs to increase the gap at the top but they weren't very convincing, they've had quite a few situations but the home side Hetafe played more than a decent game and that could easily finish in a draw too.

Dortmund on their way to give away yet another title to Bayern, with the pace they losing points lately it won't be even a close finish in the end.

They've been starting great a few campaigns in the current Bayern era but this season they've really succeed in misleading us that they are capable to do it, but once again...

Well at least they are out of the Champions League now so they can concentrate on domestic matters now. My boys Eintracht Frankfurt are hanging in there in the top 5, but they need to string a few wins together if they are to finish in the top 4 and qualify.

The funny thing is that I've said exactly the same to my buddy - a Dortmund fan, before their last league game(it was obvious they're not going trough in the CL after 3-0 first leg) which they lost from Augsburg!!...they're out of the German cup as well after a dramatic penalty shootout defeat so that won't stand on their way now too I guess Wink

Many big time ex-players stating the opposite though...that in fact it's a good thing winning on all fronts despite the busy schedule..and I'm kind of tend to agree to that..to a certain degree probably..it's creating a winning flow and mentality...if you have a large enough squad to afford winning as much of course. Smile

But with the form Dormund showing right now..they won't be even close at the end I assume.

Yeah I've seen partially a couple of Eintracht's games lately...and I think they playing quite good football and creating a lot of chances...like their style..for example they could of had a 4 or 5 first half v Hannover away a couple of games back but instead it ended up 0-0.

So I'm having that buddy who is a big Sheffield Utd & Eintracht fan, another relative settled in Frankfurt right now (so he's presumably an Eintracht fan as well) and counting you Ed...that's more than the Barceona or Real fans I know in person...find that a bit confusing...or maybe not?!? Wink

Well its nice to know there are a few other Eintracht fans out there but somehow I don't think that trend is going to hold with a wider audience. Smile

Obviously a great week for Eintracht mate, congrats on that Inter EL away win- impressive and of course they've done the job in the league as well, Gladbach really struggling of late so I think the Frankfurt team has more than decent opportunity of snatching a top 4 spot as well.

Bayern scoring 5 and 6 recently(apart from the Liverpool loss) so they definitely have a point advantage over Dortmund cause of the goal difference now ..how much I would love to see them loosing the league by a point...doubt the Dortmund 'd should the needed character(...or even class) to do it though.

Yeah that was a great win for Frankfurt against Inter. They were unlucky not to win by more as they hit the crossbar early on and wasted 3 or 4 one on one chances later. It was terrible defending from Inter for the goal and most of the game. They really should have lost 3-0 or 4-0.

I was looking ahead at the fixtures and Monchengladbach and Frankfurt have some interesting games in the last round, if the 4th spot comes down to that. Frankfurt play Bayern away and Monchengladbach play Dortmund at home. Let's hope Bayern have either won the league by then and have been partying all week or have lost it and have nothing to play for!

Ha-ha...I have another suggestion...why not by the time Bayern to be so far behind Dortmund that they wouldn't even need game Wink I'd like that much better although it's of course hard to believe that's possible.

Gladbach have been really struggling loosing points almost any game so if that continue Eintracht would have a more than a good chance of gaining that 4th spot I think especially the way they perform as of late.

I've just checked the Bundesliga scores....have missed the games over the weekend and ... Surprized some huge results there...Dortmund winning in the most dramatic fashion scoring in the 90th and 90+4 min and Bayern not able to overcome Freiburg..that's nice....hopefully it would stay that way.

Saw Eintrach is already in the top 4 just 3 behind the 3rd Leipzig so well done to them..Gladbach should blame only themselves for that...they've been disastrous lately.

Dortmund has let us all down this week - they lost 5-0 to Bayern with some awful defending. And it was 4-0 at half time! That's a 10 goal turnaround on the for and against as well as the three points. It doesn't look good for them as now Bayern are back on top and probably feeling very confident.

Eintracht got a nice late win over Schalke with a 99th minute VAR handball penalty winner. They had a free kick just outside the area and played it across then had a shot which bounced off a crowd of players. A few started appealing for handball and so they did the 5 minute VAR delay thing before awarding a penalty. Jovic smashed it in off the cross bar. They have a 4 point lead over Monchengladbach now. Frankfurt are the form team in the league at the moment so I think they are going to do it and get into the champions league places. With a little luck they could even catch Leipzig for third place.

Firstly..I'm glad to see your back Ed Tongue ..where you've been anyway?!...not obligated to answer that of course.

Dortmund where to start...they are just cowards...the manager the players, the whole bunch...this whole club shouldn't even have the ambitions to be put along side Bayern as one of the biggest in Germany..they are just not in the same league when it's about confidence and believe.

Young players I get that..but it's been like they've been accepted the defeat in this one even before the game started...if they've been dressed and put on the field 11 people from the Bayern crowd Dortmund would of still loose that game(by a margin I assume Wink )..so you could still loose the game but the way they've done it...it's just a cowardliness.
For example the second Bayern goal came after one of the most ridiculous defensive mistakes I've seen like...ever!! and nothing... no reaction no angry faces...they've just accepted it.
So it's not about even how they play...it's about mentality..is that simple..especially when you on the verge of winning something...that's the ultimate psychological test in sport which separates just the good athletes(managers, coaches) from the... winners.

If you ask me they don't deserve to win the title after that and I'm sure they won't get it anyway.

Yeah I also think Eintracht will grab that CL spot in front of Gladbach,

Saw the whole Shalke staff and players were pretty mad at the refs probably mainly because of the time it has occurred and they didn't had any time left to react to that.

Yeah I was so disappointed in Dortmund, sounds like you feel the same way. They could have dug in and made things difficult and played on the counter because even a draw was a good result for them. Now they have to rely on Bayern dropping points.

Wow...quite a curious game that..that first Vejle goal was really weird...didn't understand if that player meant to do that and obviously the keeper didn't expected it but it's been hilarious really...but great act from Vejle team to allow Aarhus scoring an equalizer without any interruption from their side which was a really sportsmen like.

Probably the ref didn't had other choice according the rules but allowing the first one..?

Anyway, I haven't seen anything like that before.

Yeah I don't know whether he meant it because they were angry about having a player sent off, or if it was just an accident. But what a game... red card, "accidental" goal, letting the opposition score one in return, saved penalty, 10 minutes of injury time etc.
