For sure. He also loves to wear this awful dark green cardigan that we call his "old man cardigan". He's cute. I guess its better to not care than to be obsessed about fashion and appearances anyway.

Yes you probably right Ed, maybe most of the people are obsessed more or less in their teen years and maybe in the 20's and even in the 30's but then usually is just all good as long as you don't look ridiculous I guess.

BMX.. I love it! Did you see the big crashes in the men's races? There were bikes cartwheeling everywhere, even a wheel that separated from a bike.

La Vuelta starts today, there are some really top riders participating so have to be a great race.
Valverde starts in all three of the big tours this year so would be curious how he will perform.

La Vuelta started quite interesting with team time trial yesterday and one of the biggest losers amongst favourites was Contador who trails around 50 seconds from Froome and most of the other favourites. Sky win it with just fractions of the second in front of Movistar team.

It was an exiting stage in Vuelta, Froome lost some more seconds fromQuintana who looks really the freshest rider out there and he's a strong favourite now to win the race, Froome was also impressive after in the beginning of the climb was at almost a full behind the group of the other contenders but after that succeed not only to catch them but even gain some advantage on all except of Quintana.

General Standings after stage 10:

1. COL QUINTANA Nairo 7 MOVISTAR TEAM 38h 37' 07''
2. ESP VALVERDE Alejandro 1 MOVISTAR TEAM + 00' 57''
3. GBR FROOME Christopher 21 TEAM SKY + 00' 58''
4. COL CHAVES Johan Esteban 51 ORICA BIKEEXCHANGE + 02' 09''
5. ESP CONTADOR Alberto 11 TINKOFF + 02' 54'

I'm not surprised that Froome is tired. I don't know how these guys do it with Tour de France, then the Olympics, and now La Vuelta in such a short space of time. Surely they don't have any "outside assistance"?!?!? Wink

I don't think Contador or Quintana have been to the Olimpicks at all, Valverde was, but he rides just in mass start so Froome is the only guy amongst contenders in Vuelta who participated in both Olympic starts and riding on the limit in both. So he have to be by far the most tired one along with Valvrde of course who rides on all three major tours this season.

I'm afraid Froome fails in La Vuelta today, really huge mistake by his team letting Quintana and Contador take advantage in first kilometers of this windy stage, there's no return in the race for Froome who lost more than 2 and a half minutes from Quintana.

I didn't see that stage but I did see one the other day where the peloton let some riders go that weren't in contention and one of them ended up finishing over half an hour before the peloton. I thought that was mad.

Yes quite strange attitude of the peloton in that day Ed,yesterday was madness too:

Quote:

It was a remarkable day at the Vuelta a España on Sunday, where 90 riders could have been ejected from the race for missing the time cut, including nearly all of the Team Sky squad.

And they've missed the time cut by a long margin more than 20 minutes which is madness for a just over 100km long stage. They probably shouldn't continue in the race according the rules which would made Froome racing all alone without his team, would it be very curious situation if that was the case.

So they decided to not enforce the rule?

Yes completely Ed, this happens quite rarely (or never) for such big group of riders so it's somewhat of a precedent and it was quite a dilemma for the organisers. Maybe too many of the sponsors would it been frustrated if all those riders were eliminated from the race. Some of the teams would it be completely missing but I still think they should have enforce the rule.

Yeah it seems crazy that the teams would allow that to happen. Perhaps they are very tired after such a long and packed season of big races.

Today is the deciding stage at La Vuelta, (if the race was not decided already) 37km time trial.
The gap of 3:37 looking enormous and the chances of Froome for the end victory doesn't look good at all but let's hope the race would become more interesting after today.

I was so pumped for the start of the NFL season! I ended up staying up until nearly midnight watching the game, and it was a great finish with the Broncos coming back to beat the Panthers 21-20.

Can't wait for the rest of the action this weekend!

I don't really watch American football at all but I read about the Raiders going for the 2 point play in the final minute to win a game instead of kicking to force extra time. I thought that was pretty gutsy.

lol lol

I did actually see the play described in the article. They were quite lucky in the end as it wasn't a great pass and the guy did well to catch it with a defender all over him.

I used to watch NFL many years ago when they had a weekly 1 hour long highlights show on TV here. That was great because it cut out all the stoppages, ad breaks, team changes, and timeouts etc that make the game so frustrating for me to watch. But these days there's no way I can sit down for 3 and a half hours to watch a one hour game that has only about 10 minutes of action!

Yes it could be annoying sometimes there's too many ad breaks during a game but I guess they could be sometimes useful too especially when you need to go to the fridge, toilet and again to the fridge...and toilet Wink
It was an exhausting Sunday when I tried to watch the all three TV games, in the end of third match I was dead tired (like being on the field myself) so didn't enjoy the third one.
There's a highlights on Google without need of entering any site to watch them so it's comfortable to check some of the games there.

I'm very impressed with Philadelphia Eagles and their rookie quarterback Carson Wentz, they just blew away Pittsburgh Steelers who looked to be in great form before that game.
Eagles are 3-0 now as is the Minnesota Vikings who defeated two great teams in a row - Packers and Panthers away, really nice start for them too.
