Premier League

The English Premier League is one of the most entertaining football leagues in the world and I would love to discuss all that happens there along with all connected to the PL betting of course.
For example I'm in shock the way standings looks at the moment and particularly the fact that Leicester City has a realistic chances to do the unthinkable and become a champions, who were thought of that before the season starts. I think the odds for that to happen were somewhere around 5000 😲 before the beginning.

I'm so happy about the result between Tottenham and WBA. It would be nice if Tottenham would won the title but Leicester winning the title is a story to tell to the nephews! And they are so close now.

Leicester must win it now, surely!?!?

Yeah, I asked my self the same question Ed and I guess the answer is yes it's sure now. Can't see Leicester loosing 3 in a row and from such sloppy sides like United 😉 and Chelsea, and Spurs winning all their games, they clearly missed their chance with that draw against WBA and many times before that during the season so ... 😎

I agree I can't see them failing now. They could lose this weekend and still win it if Spurs lose to Chelsea.

It will be the greatest premier league win if they do it, but the worst choke ever if they don't.

I don't know if I all ready posted that but here is the story, I had a dispute with a guy who stated that Leicester winning the league would be equal to Greece European title and I said to him it's nowhere near.

And my favorite part from that article:

Just how crazy is 5,000-1?

Here are some other bets (legal in England, not the U.S.) offered at those odds by William Hill:

• Elvis is found alive.
• Yeti or Loch Ness Monster is proven to exist.
• Christmas is the warmest day of the year in England.
• Kanye West and Kim Kardashian name their next child Sinner.
• Kim Kardashian becomes the U.S. president in 2020.
• Barack Obama plays cricket for England after he leaves Oval Office.

I don't know if it is a true story and there's a good chance Ladrbokes made it up to get some publicity but how about the guy who bet 50p on Leicester at the beginning of the season at 5000/1 who then cashed out after they won their first match for a 45p profit?

Maybe we don't know the whole story, maybe he needed badly these money 😂
Sound so stupid that no doubt for me it's a real story.
I've read William Hill statistics about Leicester title bets and most of the punters cashed out their bets all ready but in the end this is a loss for them. I know the pressure is on when we speak of such a big odds and huge potential win but Leicester looked like a title winers for me all the way since mid season and of course bookies re happy to cut the loses and close the bets at lower odds.
That's why I never liked the cash out option by which bookies just make you guess one more time and increase your chance to Make a mistake, I cashed out once a live bet and I've lost 1000EU by doing that, after this I'm not too fancy in cash out option and of course I've had lost many other times because of that.

😀 I also read an article about events with lower odds than Leicester to win the title. Pope Francis had an odd of 2000 to play for Glasgow Rangers 😀

Some more minutes for Manchester United - Leicester. It will be very difficult for Leicester but if they win they will be the new champions so I will keep fingers crossed for them

1-1 after a very nice match and a denied penalty to Utd. We still have to wait to see Leicester as champions, Maybe tomorrow Chelsea will help them.

I think the result is great for Leicester especially after Drinkwater was sent off and they have to finish the game with 10 man, another stable performance for them and all the pressure over Spurs now.

I was sweating on this match because my football team had a bet on the game ending in a draw. That free kick instead of a penalty nearly gave me a heart attack!

I think Leicester has it now though. I don't think Spurs will beat Chelsea.

Yesterday was a glories day in Leicester sporting history not only that football club became a Premier league champions but also Marc Selby who is a native Leicester guy won the World Snooker championship. Maybe it's not only in sport but the greatest day ever for Leicester.

It is fantastic to see an underdog come through and win a major league like that. And in the end Leicester have done it comfortably. I hope that this result gives other clubs the incentive to have a go and believe in themselves in future as I think over the past few years no-one has really believed that any club outside of the top 3 or 4 can possibly win it. And I can only hope that the obsession with wasting so much money on big name signings is reduced a bit (unlikely though).

I think we should bet on Burnley to be the next champions, they have the same odd as Leicester, 5000 😀 I read that already 1000 bets was made on it.

I would laugh at any statement before the season that Leiceter could be in top 4 😀
Maybe 90% of the people didn't believed in Spurs chances to be a champions, what about Leicester's chances 😜
The worst things is that the English teams spending enormous all ready and not only for a star players but PL teams overspend for almost every player they buying. Hopefully that nonsense will stop because as we can see this season the results are not guaranteed.

I'm afraid the sensation of this caliber won't take place maybe in the next 50 or 100 years, but I was thinking of same exact thing - there's going to be a hysteria for such odds before next season and it's a great news for the bookies, and beside 5000 for Burnley it's just not high enough 😉

This is from a newspaper at the start of the season and shows how the bookmakers only realistically believed that 3 or 4 teams could win it. And how badly wrong they were about several teams!

Yeah some of those odds look quite ridiculous now, Ladbrokes odds are quite better ones than the others in that list. The funny part starts with Chelsea is N1 favourite, a team who looked under treath of relegation in the first half of the season 😀

Yes it just goes to show how silly Ladbrokes were. Obviously they were offering much bigger odds than everyone else because they thought they would make easy money on a bunch of teams that had no chance of winning.

Even if you bet on Spurs at 150/1 at the beginning and then cashed out a few weeks ago you would have made a lot of money. West Ham at 3000/1 looks ridiculous too.

And now I just want to quote myself from a few months back on the subject of Leicester...

Obviously Terry is not your all time favourite player Ed 🤷 😀
But I'm not sure Chelsea would be obliged to salute the champions, are they?

Very important games in the relegation battle today involving Norwich and Newcastle teams. Norwich host Man United which club on paper still have some chances for the top 4 spot. Have to be a tight game but I don't have an idea how it's going to finish.

Sunderland also have an important game against Chelsea. Arsenal, City and United are still fighting for a Champions League place so it will be a very tense final of the season.

Sunderland obtained a very important victory against Chelsea yesterday while Norwich is very close to the relegation now. Newcastle is also in a very difficult situation after they didn't reached to win against Villa.
Today are some interesting matches but Manchester City - Arsenal is definitely the most important of them, both teams needs a win for the 3 place but City can also lose the 4th place, the last one that qualify for the Champions League if they will lose today.

Hahhah no he isn't! I don't know if they have to salute the champions but it is a tradition so they will do it. Unfortunately Terry was red-carded so he won't play again this season which is a shame for me. 😉

That was an absolutely huge win for Sunderland and crucial points dropped by Newcastle against a rotten Aston Villa. If Sunderland can win their midweek game at home to Everton they will stay up and Newcastle and Norwich can say bye bye. Two draws is probably even enough for Sunderland as they have a much better goal difference than both Newcastle and Norwich. I think that means Newcastle are doomed because Everton clocked off weeks ago and I expect Sunderland to beat them.

I can't believe that Sunderland almost done it again, they looked dead and barried few months ago. It would be probably 4th escape in last 4 seasons! Incredible although we know that Big Sam is master of that.
