Playthrough On Sports Bonuses?

3 replies • Last post

Hey guys, I never take a bonus from a casino because I don't like play through, but sports betting is something different.

Do sports betting bonuses generally have a play through amount? Is it higher or lower than a casino games bonus?

I really have no clue. Any help?

Sometimes they do, but most times they do not. The usual condition attached is that they are "stake not returned" which means that if you bet a $1 bonus at even odds, normally you would get $2 back. But on a stake not returned bet you'll get only $1 back so you obviously don't get to keep the bonus.

They can actually be an easy way to make guaranteed money using a "matched bet" on a betting exchange. Basically you can make a bet with your free bet or bonus at the sports book then bet on the opposite result elsewhere to guarantee that you win money no matter the result. Google "matched betting calculator" if you like the sound of that.

Thanks Ed, that sounds really interesting! I am going to read into it and then probably play one. I am constantly being offered free bets and stuff by books, so I just might try this.

That does sound interesting, but also way too confusing to me. lol I know it is not rocket-science, yet those types of things always confuse me, so I would probably end up doing something wrong and handing them my money. lol

I did learn something new today, as I had no idea there was no-deposit offers and play-through on sports betting. I figured it was just a straight forward thing.
