A Dirty Play

6 replies • Last post

The NHL playoffs started last night, and my Detroit Red Wings are in for the 21st straight year.

Last night they lost a game full of penalties, but the real kicker at the end was this one:

What do you think, does Shea Weber deserve to be suspended for that slamming of the head into the glass? Was it dirty?

The whole Red Wings Team deserves to be suspended just for being the Red WIngs. Kudos to Weber. On another note when I was in College, my schools hockey team, University of Denver, guy on the other team North Dakota was checked hard into the glass, long story short, broken collar bone, big concussion for him, no more hockey for a while. But I have never seen someone drop like that.
PS a Ottawa or Vancouver will win.
PSS I hate the Red Wings
PSSS I don't care that much for Professional hockey

Ok as you know I have no idea about hockey - but are you talking about the first guy or the guy who retaliated? From what I saw, the Red Wings guy smashed the other guy head first into the glass from behind. So he stands up throws a punch that misses then holds the Red Wings guy's head and gives him a taste of his own medicine. If one gets banned then surely they both should, but hey I don't even know what is allowed in the rules of the game!

😂

The initial hit by the Red Wing is debatable, but the head smash is definitely not. I guess they were saying that his helmet was cracked in 7 spots after the smash, so there had to have been some decent force behind it. I have been blown up quite a few times when I played hockey and never had a helmet crack, so I assume it was hard.

The NHL is supposedly cracking down on all intentional hits to the head, but it doesn't appear that they are too serious on the matter.

Anyway, the dirty play there wasn't nearly as bad as what has been going on between these two teams:

Laughable. I've never seen so many punches thrown with so few actually landing and doing any damage! Its obviously very hard to fight on skates with giant gloves around your hands. I had to laugh when the guys at the end had been fighting for ages and the commentator says "oh oh he's going to go now for hair pulling". Said it all really.

On the other hand about half way through when one of the guys was checked with a stick to the neck or face. That was brutal. Ouch.
