is this the end of online casinos as we know them

11 replies • Last post

i was always a player with a very precise eye on the RTP% value and the set payout percentage.
With a few exceptions, games with an RTP% value below 96% were avoided from the start
and consistently not played by me.
now here is the point . a few weeks ago the mga reduced the minimum payout ratio
(not the RTP%...which is in the end nearly the same ) drastically by incredible 7%
from 92% to a ridiculous 85% !!

moment moment...what 7%...yes right...i proved it and in my
little test the -7% minimum payout ratio turned out to be- 7% RTP% at all
games in the casino.
casino: videoslots.com
belive it or not i was not able to find any slot game with a higher RTP% then 90.!!!!
90% RTP that mean you cant win anything no matter what you do.

Videoslots have been running games at RTP values as low as they could for a few years now. I wish I was surprised by this but I can't say that I am. We've referenced this post this on our review page for them and have lowered their rating some more.

The thing is there are thousands of casinos to choose from. You have to vote with your wallet and go play elsewhere.

God that sucks. Especially for bigger sites like Videoslots, I'd have thought they'd keep higher numbers as they make enough money. Turns out I'm naive. Screw that noise.

So I've just read that a lot of affiliate marketers are complaining that they are being ripped off by VideoSlots too, either refusing to pay money owed or trying to cut the money owed by lowering the commission rate.

I'm speculating here but I wouldn't be surprised if the owners of VS are looking to sell their business. They inflate the profitability numbers in the short term by cutting off affiliate commissions and ripping off players with RTPs set as low as possible, then sell the business to some sucker who relies on the gamed valuation and who has to deal with the fallout once enough customers realise and the numbers start dropping. My guess is they won't be around much longer in their current incarnation.

Although I haven't been able to play at VideoSlots for about 2 years now, in my opinion they started a steep decline in more ways that one when they were hit with a £1 million in fines in 2018 with the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) regulatory authority for historical failings to "place effective safeguards" within their casino system.
It seems they have been in trouble again earlier this year with Swedish Gambling Authority for being non-compliant with the SEK 5,000 ($601) weekly deposit limit for online casino and slots, which was introduced in July 2020 in response to the coronavirus pandemic and were fined SEK 250,000 for each week until the change was implemented.
Can read the article here:
https://www.gamblinginsider.com/news/10923/videoslots-penalised-by-sga-f...

All that being said...its no wonder the decline and possible "offload" is on the cards.

Going back a few years they were my "go-to" online casino. Great bonuses, cashback each week, payouts fast, support staff friendly and helpful and tonnes of choice in games to play.
Sad that they are circling the drain hole now. I read so many bad comments about them now. Slow payouts, low RTP's, rude support staff, constant badgering of players who have been fully verified being denied payouts till they produce documents that have verified less than a month before.
Sad, really sad BUT, people cannot say they haven't been warned. There are so many bad reviews and comments on so many forums complaining about VideoSlots now that anybody who continues to play there or even worse, newly sign up, have only themselves to blame if they end up being one of the casualties.

What I also noticed. Videoslots casino has changed a lot and I think it has lost several players.
Today I logged into my account and was surprised to receive this message: We are required to verify your identity and proof of address before you can make a deposit and play.
However, since 2015 I have made several deposits and several withdrawals and my account is already fully verified. my Level is 20.
It is a casino on the decline.

that video slots has developed for worse from year to year is nothing new for most of us.
In my post it was not actually about the videoslots casino but about the fact that the mga has regulated the minimum payout rates so drastically that it makes no sense to pay even 1 cent into a casino with mga license and how the casinos are this will change the landscape ...

Yeah you are right. The LGA has let everyone down with that decision, apart from the casinos that pay their license fees of course - which probably explains everything nicely.

There will be some casinos that still offer higher payout slots in order to attract business. But everyone is going to have to check the RTP every time before they play a game because the rate could be changed after a while.

They certainly acted quite quickly with the RTP change here. I am convinced that German players will experience it at many more casinos in the coming time due to the new regulations. Definitely makes you think twice whether your hard earned money should be spent like this.

Something is going on. Some casinos are exactly fair I can tell by the roulette table from playing in real life. You know the green will come up back to back pretty much, You know then some come up on your last spin, then you know the difference, is what I'm thinking in efforts to unlocking the cashier.
