RIP Flash based slots

26 replies • Last post

RIP to all the great flash based slots. Noticed Bovada removed most of them and unfortunately those were my favorite games. I will have serious withdrawal in 2021. I will pour one out tonight in honor of my favorite slot games that are no longer available.

I can't believe Ignition/Bovada only lists 33 slots now! This has been such a long time coming and they really should have been better prepared.

Yeah it sucks they couldn't find a way to change the format and keep the games. I prefer playing on my laptop and usually there were a few RTG ones I could play but no longer. Gotta use my ipad now if I want to play them. I'm just disappointed because the games I liked playing the most like Hercules, Queen of Kings, El Luchador, Jack the Ripper, Zombies vs Cheerleaders are gone for good. At least I can still play Dragons on my ipad but thats about it.

They can't have been caught by surprise. Browser and website developers have been phasing out flash since Apple said it would never be on an iphone. That was probably 10 years ago by now.

I feel that HTML5 is much more stable than Flash.

I think that some small and lazy developers will just abandon many of their flash games. But, there are bunch of new good games, so, I don't really care about them now.

Since I don't play RTG games much I didn't think there were too many flash games available at this point. I guess it's a farewall - surely many casinos need to then think about their offering.

It is typical of RTG who are very slow to keep up with the times. They get by because of their willingness to target grey markets that the regulated European suppliers can't. If they didn't allow Americans to play their games they would by destroyed by the European competition with far better games.

Some of those games noted were also developed in house by Bodog/Bovada so its not just RTG.

Speaking of Bovada, we're still waiting on an answer of what's happening to all the progressives built up on all the Flash RTG games they just removed. If they do the right thing they will move them to other games, but we'll see...

They have removed jackpot games in the past and the jackpots always get redistributed to other games on the site, so I would expect them to do the same again.

I agree with Ed, the jackpots should be distributed on other games. They can't just remove it as the funds are there.

I find that old RTG slots are available on downloaded application. How could it be possible? 🙂

Bovada added back some of the older RTG games to the desktop site and now you can quick spin so thats nice. Still lost most of the games I played though. Also the mobile site still doesn't list a bunch of games that are available which doesn't make sense. Weird site.

Is the conversion of Flash to HTML5 difficult or something? I don't understand how they don't get that done.

There's a slot called Dragons that I love playing but I can only play it using my Google app on my ipad. It's not on the desktop site and doesn't work with the Safari browser.

I was actually playing yesterday at a RTG casino and most of the games were unavailable for desktop instant play but available for desktop download or mobile.

You would think so but here we are nearly a week into it and support is still giving the run-around on them "making a decision" as to what they will do with the progressives they removed. They claim is a difficult decision requiring multiple department's input. It's quite strange that this seemingly obvious right thing to do is so complicated for them to figure out.

It's also weird for them to say so as it's not something that happened out of nowhere, it was well-known about flash end of life so it should have been planned way ahead.

Took them quite a bit of time! But it's good that there's finally more information on this, for those who play at Ignition casino.

Ignition redistributed the funds a few hours ago. Several of the jackpots are 10x their average size and the biggest ones are nearing their all-time high.

Since this will only ever happen once, I'm being an absolute degen grinding 6 progressive jackpots simultaneously at 1AM 😂

Slim, the jackpot must be the 12$ win! 😂 But in all seriousness, wish you all good luck to those who are playing those jackpots, I've never been a fan myself. 🙂

When a jackpot is multiple times the average, the RTP of progressive slots actually exceeds 100% so even if you don't like the games or you're losing money it's still a profitable decision to play. I only chase these jackpots during the brief window when they are 'technically' profitable.

Unfortunately, no big wins for me yet 😉

Only 4 of the 9 boosted jackpots remain. Of the remaining games, 777 Deluxe has the biggest jackpot (currently $678,674 with the average win @ $127,245) while Gold Rush Gus has the best odds to win (currently $232,151).

It is almost certainly an EV+ bet so good on you for giving it a shot Matthew. That said, the chances of hitting are obviously extremely unlikely so there is that...

This flash ending was announced a long time back and most casinos that had flash on site had changed to HTML5 which solved that issue, i will miss a few games that i can no longer access across a number of providers
