Some NetEnt games have been retired

30 replies • Last post

An email came through to us from NetEnt announcing that a bunch of their games have been retired and are no longer available to play. This is the list:

Berryburst MAX
Bollywood Story
Copy Cats
Flowers Christmas Edition
Go Bananas
Hook's Heroes
Lucky Angler: A Snowy Catch
Magic Portals
Sparks
Spellcast
Swipe and Roll
Theme park: Tickets of Fortune
Twin Spin Deluxe
Universal Monsters The Phantom's Curse Video Slot
Witchcraft Academy

The games range from super old (Spellcast) to some relatively new releases. And of course a couple of games where NetEnt was phoning it in by releasing a slightly modified version of any already popular game (eg Berryburst Max, Flowers Xmas Ed, Twin Spin Deluxe). It would appear that these alternate versions of games were about as popular as you might imagine i.e. not very.

Are there any in there that you are going to miss? I was fond of Lucky Angler myself, so even though I haven't been able to play it for a while now I'm sad to see it is gone.

Interesting. You don't hear of games being retired very frequently. I wonder why they'd choose to do so. They can't be very resource heavy, and it's not like they're taking up physical real estate like a land slot would.

I like the Universal Monsters games, so seeing The Phantom's Curse gone is one that sticks out to me.

I'm guessing but some of them are very cartoony and maybe they are worried they may fall afoul of the regulators who don't want games that could appeal to kids.

I heard about this a few months ago that these games won't be available. Most of them don't surprise me but some do- I always though Flowers Christmas and Hook's Heroes were doing pretty ok.

Were they also only available in Flash? With Flash technically dying at the end of the year I expect to see many Flash-based games "retire" rather than be upgraded to HTML5.

No, I think all NetEnt games available over the past couple of years had been converted to html5 long ago. Some of these games were really modern and had never even been available in flash.

INTERESTING many MGA Licensed Casinos have been providing NetEnt free spins over the last 1-2 weeks. No real reason given just for being a customer is common.
Or are they MGA casinos looking for feed back due to 100s of December promotions flowing currently

Well I can see why they would retire those slots but I actually really liked witches academy and must like you Ed I really did enjoy lucky angler when that slot was hot it was freaking hot erupting with massive wins , I generously don't play Netent slots anymore Im finding thier games boring and and not paying out as generously as they used to that coupled with the lack of deposit free spins they would issue when a new release came out compared to now with nothing at all has left me thinking of them as bland burnt toast

What you're saying Lambino doesn't surprise me. Many casinos have introduced the Netent lower rtp versions and I can't remember the last time I really enjoyed any of the newer Netent games.

If you are a player of Netent (I am not) you will notice the poorer returns which started well over 2 months ago. Both Netent and Red Tiger RTP% are terrible and have been so for months. Great for casinos not so for players.
Maybe this is the reason why a few MGA casinos I have not played at for some weeks all of a sudden provide me with free Netent games in blocks of 2 x 20 1 x 30 and 1 x 50.
Or was it to remove all the horrible Netent free spin games to avoid their customers complaints.
from memory the return was $5.38 for 110 free spins . The 1 block of 1 x 30 was 36 cents
Am happy not to play Netent games. theπŸ’©s

As far as I know and have checked around casinos, casino operators can adjust RTPs of only a few games, but they can change RTPs of all the Red Tiger slots.

Regarding Red Tiger RTPs, Unibet and Dafaget casinos provide the initial RTPs.

I couldn't find other casinos to keep the RTPs at the original settings...

That is true, when it comes to Netent, only a few games offer different RTPs - either lower or higher versions. Red Tiger has all their games available in either initial RTP versions or lower ones, Nolimit and Play'n Go also offers lower ones.

I enjoyed playing many of the Red Tiger games whom at the time if one played at a higher level you achieved some outstanding results.
This all changed when Netent bent over some months ago for many casinos and changed their RTP%.
This move sharfted all players and made Casino operators $$$ . πŸ’©
Hence my reason why I refrain from playing Netent/Red Tiger games.
Red Tiger is completely stuffed these days by the game controller Netent.πŸ’©
However Netent skullduggery has pushed me into live Casino area which I enjoy.

Fortunately I didn't liked any of this games, so there is no loss for me πŸ˜€

I only wonder why the South Park game from Netent is not available at any casino in Romania, even if almost all casinos licenced in Romania have also Netent games, this games is missing.
And I love that game 😒

That game was discontinued a long time ago so it's not just Romania, it's all casinos with Netent games!

Yes I have seen several casinos that offer lower ones, I mean in this case lower is jut 94%, not like Play n Go that can be even 91% and same as Red Tiger. I think Red Tiger is the worst in this case because it's incredibly difficult to get decent wins even with 96% RTP.

I didn't know that, I thought it was missing only from the Romanian casinos. So, I have no chance to play again this game 😭😭

Yes indeed, South Park was discontinued several years ago. But beware, there are casinos running fake or pirated games that still offer it as well as other old discontinued games. If you find it at a casino you know that the games there are fake.

I DO NOT PLAY ANY NETENT GAMES OR RED TIGER GAMES ANY MORE AS CLEARLY NETENT HAVE SHARFED ALL PLAYERS BY ALTERING RTP% and or giving the casinos the option of low or lower RTP% πŸ’©

The reality is the casinos are the ones asking the game providers for more RTP choices. They wouldn't go through the hassle and develop multiple RTP options if the casinos didn't request them. NoLimit came out and said they only offer lower-RTP versions to get/retain customers.

No Limit also well another one added to the listing πŸ’©
What provider does a Casino offer for free spins ,Of course Netent 99% of the time.
A few years back I would not hesitate playing Netent/Red Tiger as their RTP% were fantastic.
Now unless you wish to lose money you can not play any Netent game as doctored by casinos if not already by Netent themselves.πŸ’©
Fortunately there are alternatives providers and casinos whom do not shaft players.

I think that's a bit harsh statement. Of course I prefer casinos with higher RTPs for their games but they games aren't "doctored" by the casinos etc- I mean game providers offer their games with several RTP options which is great for them business wise. With that being said, I don't think having 91% Play'n Go games like Aspire Global brands do (if I remember correctly) is a nice tactic. With 96% or 94% RTP it's I don't mind (of course would go for higher ones if possible) but below that- no, thank you.

I mean I think the important thing is that with those games, you can go in the rules and see what the RTP is and if it has changed. At least there is transparency.

Us Americans are stuck with these garbage RTG casinos that don't state the RTPs anywhere and could theoretically be changing without anyone being the wiser.

Blck it was under a year ago the Aspire group was listed as a group to be very careful off if playing any of their sites. Their sites are all controlled via their deeppocket HO group.
I myself have not played a Aspire group site in 12 months but this does not stop their group HO emailing promotions every week for a casino I played at.

I am very happy to stick to a plan of Not playing all poor RTP% Netent games or Red Tiger games.
There are 100s of alternatives and I find I am achieving a higher rate of withdrawals since I have stopped playing them.

Reckless bets I agree with your statement garbage RTG casino games. Have shut or closed down the 2 sites I use to play of RTG games due mainly to their false promotions.
Due to my rule of no playing Netent/Red Tiger games I do not really care about possible poor RTP%
I watch Brian Christopher play some of your USA online casino games via a few casino game providers.
My country could hook into many of the USA on line casino Providers but approx a year ago casino restrictions imposed by our or USA Government means we are not able to log in.
Now we have to wary of all the dodgy Australian sites set up by UK /European casino operators.
good luck🍺

Of course and I completely get it. I personally like just a few Red Tiger games but they've never been really lucky for me with significant profits. And I also agree with RecklessBets, at least we have the opportunity to see all the game RTPs and if you play at decent casinos, they won't mask them (Not speaking about USA casinos). As far as I have the option I also go with higher versions as you do feel the difference in the longer run.

I am operating from the pacific and our dollar is not great when depositing into Euro/USA playing casinos so throw in poor RTP% and am dealt a double blow.
Many a casino has the Red Tiger Jackpot games and you know very well a little change from97- 96%RTP% to 94% makes a huge difference. Crazy bad.
MGA casinos are the worst.πŸ‘Ž
