Round 1. Fight!! - Street Fighter 2

9 replies • Last post

Hey, CL folks, how are you doing these days? I am doing just fine, no covid19 near my small town, etc 🙂

Anyway, I recently found the new game of NetEnt and was very happy. I want to share it with you.

The game is Street Fighter 2 🙂
Wow, never imagined that NetEnt will come up with this game.
And they made it pretty cool.

I haven't played this game with real money yet, but will do it soon.

Just watch the video clip first 🙂

I love the aesthetic of this game. I'm a huge SF fan and I have multiple versions on my mini arcade. I love whoopin' my kids at them!

I used to hang out at the milk bar or corner shop with my friends playing the SF2 arcade game back when we were teenagers. We probably pumped enough money through the game to have bought our own if we had saved up.

Even better - I am old enough to remember the original SF1 arcade game that came with two rubber pads instead of 6 buttons and if you wanted to do a heavy punch or kick you had to hit the pad harder. They changed to the 6 buttons because people were getting bloody hands playing the game.

Oh, I don't remember the Street Fighter 1. Maybe, here, Street Fighter 2 was the first one to be introduced back then.

I wan't a very good player of this game.

My favorite fighters were Guile and Ken.
I remember that I barely made it to the final boss.

I'm still a Ryu guy. I can smack you with a Hadoken with my eyes closed.

God that's a great game.

Oh that's pretty good, coolsongss!

Has anyone else here even gotten into the Marvel vs. series of games? I have a bunch of Marvel vs. Capcom games at home, and I LOVE them, too. The best is Marvel vs. Capcom 2, but they're all fantastic in their own right.

I never got into the Marvel stuff. I never really read comics as a kid so it didn't appeal to me. I did try Street Fighter 4 I think it was on the PS4. I started the game, saw that most of the characters had to be unlocked, and after that annoyance I think I only played it once or twice more. What a waste of money that was.

Yeah the newer Street Fighter games suck. I hate that everyone feels the need to go to this new 3D or 2.5D aesthetic for their games. Keep the hand drawn sprites! They're so great and that's peak SF in my opinion.
