Monetary Decrease in Payline Wins & Multiple System Errors During Every Session

5 replies • Last post

Hello there,
I have been playing at the same three casinos since Microgaming ceased in Australia. Normally the 3 Casinos that I play with I have no problems with, No Technical Glitches and certainly not multiple errors in the one session, This has been happening for the last 3 weeks and to begin I just thought they casinos may need some maintenance. Since then I have been to 2 friends places and seen that they have been experiencing the same issues...

My question is, can this be a sign of pirated software?

The other abnormalities I have noticed is that winning payout lines have decreased in value.... is this a normal occurrence for a casino decrease the value amount of a winning pay-line?

If the pay values for a line have decreased that indicates they have at least published a new version of the game. Others may have increased or symbols on the reels may have changed so it doesn't necessarily mean the overall payout has declined.

If you could point out a casino and game we could check to see if the game is legitimate or pirated for you.

Thank you for the response, the casino is Jokaroom & Pokie Pop and the game that comes mainly to mind is the Legend of Cleopatra 100 lines. From when I first started playing the game I was quite surprised at the win line payouts was so high, in saying that the game has always been highly volatile but when you did get a win it was a good win. an example is a $2 bet that seen the first 5 reels full of Cleopatra would gain you a win of $100 now the win was half that. In general, the game now seems to give much less on all pay lines. My husband and another friend who plays the same game is certain of this too...

I'm sure Ed will look into this tonight. I know there's a way to find out if the servers are legit, but it requires going into the code and seeing the source.

Well if nothing else I can say looking into that was an interesting exercise.

  • Legend of Cleopatra is a game published by a company called Playson. The Playson logo normally sits in the bottom left of the game screen but it is not present in the game at Jokaroom. That is odd, I think.
  • On the Jokaroom site it is being served from a domain cdnbau000.com. Pokie Pop is coming from gv-gamespace.com. That first one looks very suspect to me.
  • I looked those domains up using WHOIS and both are registered to a Curacao company called Game Vector N.V., and the domains are only 1 and 2 years old respectively. Hmmm.
  • Looking up Game Vector N.V. on the Curacao chamber of commerce site, it was incorporated in 2018, with a Managing Director listed as a Maltese person called Ivan Farrugia. I have to admit at this point it was all looking super shady to me.
  • But then I google Ivan Farrugia and he is the Managing Director of Playson.

So assuming that the domain records and the Curacao business records are accurate the game seems to be legitimate. I compared the paytable to the free play version on Playson's website and it is the same.

As for the glitches and errors you mentioned, it doesn't really indicate whether games are pirated or not. It could indicate many different things: a network routing issue between you and the casino's server, game servers with bugs, or inability to handle the volume of traffic they are serving.

Please don't take that as an endorsement of either casino, or that we think they are ok to play at. The sad truth is that the majority of newly opened Aussie themed casinos and those that are targeting Australians specifically are crooked.

Well, at least the games seem legit. That's at least SOMETHING. Still, like Ed said, be wary.
