2 replies • Last post

Hi there, I am owed over a thousand dollars from last year and don't like my chances..... they seem to have a bad reputation and have now shut their site. Can anyone tell me if there is anywhere we can complain to who would help follow this up, I have screen dumps and pages and pages of false promises and excuses from online chats. thanks muchly, Kirsty, New South Wales, Australia

Sorry but the Grand Reef crooks are long gone. We had people complaining of them shutting down without paying a couple of years ago. Then they re-opened a new RTG casino with the same name, but still didn't bother paying anyone they stiffed when they shut down the Playtech version.

It wouldn't make much difference if they were open though because they rarely paid anyone even when they were open. If they did they would make people wait 6 months to send a $300 instalment or something.

They were a South African operation and the owners - I recall the name Denver Chetty and possibly his brother was involved - are known for cheating a woman out of most of a massive progressive jackpot at African Palace, which was another casino they owned in the past. So I wouldn't be surprised to see them reappear under a new name somewhere else in the future. They are like weeds you can't get rid off.

Always play it safe! Consult our list of rogue casinos and warnings before depositing at a new casino.

Another good reason why it's important to check a reputable site for a good review before you put in money. Look for a site that actually criticizes casinos in their reviews when they do wrong. I'm biased, but I say CL does a good job of this.
