ocean drive casino - fake query?

8 replies • Last post

Hi all

Had a promotional email about this casino Ocean Drive Casino and it doesn't look genuine to me, the games just don't seem right but I couldn't see any warnings about it on here....so wondered if you could check it out before I deposit.

Thanks
Pamela

Geez what a stupid name for a casino. I've seen some shockers in my time but that is right up there.

Without even looking at it for longer than a minute, I'm going to give you some general advice you should take heed of. Sorry in advance if it sounds harsh.

You're in the UK, so don't play at unknown Curacao "licensed" casinos, especially ones that you've never heard of that are spamming you. For one it is illegal for them to allow you to play, but more importantly you have hundreds of professionally run, licensed and regulated sites to choose from. All of which have to adhere to actual laws that are enforced, and have to provide dispute resolution procedures and consumer protection and responsible gambling policies.

Why would you risk your money at some unheard of and unregulated Curacao crap shoot that has none of those things, based on nothing more than a promotional spam message?

Thanks, I knew you would help CL-Ed!

Yes I know I usually get tempted do take a look when I get a promotional email, as I am sure many of us do....and when things look dodgy I come on here to warn others!

I signed up with Gamstop so have very few reputable UK casinos that I can personally access which answers your 3rd paragraph.

But its all good as a result, but I miss it, particularly in these lockdown times 🙂

Ok now that answers my question about why you were even considering playing there.

The problem is that if you've signed up for Gamstop but then you're still considering playing at unlicensed sites that aren't participants in that scheme, you're just undermining your own decision to exclude in the first place. Aside from the obvious risks of problem gambling that raises, you're putting yourself at much greater risk of being ripped off.

Maybe you should consider installing software that blocks gambling sites altogether (probably this one included). Or seeing as your email address has clearly been traded around and you're being spammed by new casinos (something we all can relate to here), might I suggest binning that email address altogether and starting a new one that you never use at a casino? Go through all your old email and notify friends and family of the new address first then move.

It seems to me that if you're going to be relentlessly spammed with offers you'll be tempted to play at some of the riskiest casinos that couldn't care less about responsible gambling or self exclusion policies. And by using Gamstop you've already made the call that you don't want to do that.

If you need any help with avoiding the spam or installing blocking software just let us know, either here or by sending me a private message.

I tried that casino a few months ago, I think they were offering some free bonus or something. But definitely didn't leave me with a trustworthy feeling.

Thanks all, I always come here to check so appreciate the feedback. I do only use one email address for casino accounts which I can bin if needed. I won't use any that look dodgy having been stung before but I know not all with Curaçao licences are dodgy so thought I'd check. I'm happy with Gamstop as it works and I feel very much in control of my participation now but I get bored and tempted but come on here to check reviews first.

Further to this, I have discovered evidence that Ocean Drive Casino is running pirated games and should be considered an outright rogue casino. See here.

I am also not satisfied with this casino and my friends had very bad situations after which they were not satisfied with this casino.
This is how I look at the ratings on review sites - they have a very low rating there.🤔
