Spirit of the Inca boiling pot jackpots

9 replies • Last post

I was doing a bit of work on our jackpots tracker last week and I noticed something that I thought many of you would like to be aware of. RTG casinos have a game called Spirit of the Inca which has five different progressive jackpots. The jackpots correspond to the bet level you make in the game and they are guaranteed to be won when they hit a certain boiling pot value, if not sooner.

Here are the five levels, the bet amount needed to qualify, the boiling pot value and the current value:

Yep that means that the Maxi level jackpot is extremely close to going off. That said, these jackpots increase in value very slowly. That is because your bet is distributed between the jackpot that you qualify for and all the ones below it. i.e. if you bet $3.50 you're contributing to the Maxi, Major, Minor, and Mini jackpots. I had a play at it myself and I reckon the Maxi jackpot would only increase by a cent or so for every three or four spins I made.

The way they work is that as soon as a spin contribution makes it hit the boiling pot amount, the person who made that spin wins the jackpot. So once this thing hits $249,900 or so its going to be a race to see who can hit the lucky spin.

So keep an eye on it over the coming weeks. And if you do decide to chase this one please don't play at one of the many rogue-ass RTG casinos out there that will make you wait years to get all the money, assuming they pay you at all. Check out our RTG casinos list if you're not sure how reputable the one you like to play at is.

I've played this game a decent amount and noticed that while some of the jackpots were relatively close to their must-hit-by values, you're right that they advance extremely slowly. I don't think many people play them to be honest. Most of then have never even been hit according to your jackpot tracker.

Are these kinds of WAP jackpots paid by RTG directly and not subject to the tiny $2500 max withdrawal most the casinos limit you to per week?

They are pooled across all RTG casinos so they should be paid by RTG. I still wouldn't want to chance it at one of the many rogues though.

Since I wrote the above post yesterday the Maxi jackpot has only increased by $1 and the Mini by $8, so its going to take a while before the Maxi gets near the must win amount. But you would expect it to accelerate as it gets closer so its worth keeping an eye on.

Actually a quick back of the envelope calculation - if the Maxi increases at $5 a day its still going to take more than a year to get up to the must win amount. So maybe not as close as it appears unless someone starts pumping money into it.

Ed, do you know what's going on with the tracker? It looks like the Maxi jackpot actually hit sometime mid-June but the tracker doesn't have a value (and your link above links to the Major one, not the Maxi).

Sorry I fixed the link.

Looking at our database the last recorded value we had before it dropped on June 17 was 249,485. The next recorded value was 200,000 so I'd say it was hit and that 200k is the re-seed value.

The reason our tracker has not logged a hit is that we didn't know the seed value beforehand. If we know what it is and the jackpot drops to within a very small range of the seed value then we know we had a win. If not we have to guesstimate and the amount it dropped as a percentage was not enough to trigger an automatic hit detection. We do that to avoid counting smaller drops due to currency exchange fluctuations or minor prizes like a straight flush in Caribbean Stud being counted as a hit against the major jackpot.

We'll add the win manually.

Man that got really close to the must-hit. No wonder we don't see too many RTG big prize jackpots paying off.

I stumbled across these "boiling point" jackpots earlier in 2020. At the time, I set a reminder on my phone to check the jackpot again in late October - it progresses so incredibly slowly. We'll be waiting a while yet!

Yeah I don't think they're very popular, probably because there's not a mobile version offered. You have to be on a computer running Flash (which is quickly dying and Chrome is about to stop supporting). Same with Megasaur. Heck, there's even other progressive games that don't even work through RTG's browser-based casinos, and are only offered through the downloadable casino, like Shopping Spree 2, 3 Stooges, etc. No idea why they don't offer those elsewhere.

I had a whale of a time getting Flash to load up to even show me the games. You're completely right, Reckless Bets. Who wants to go through so much hassle to play a slot?

Yes flash is an outdated and dead technology and this has been well known for at least 5 years now. Steve Jobs said Apple would never allow it on an iPhone a decade ago. So RTG has no excuse for not updating all their games by now. All you can assume is that they don't update the ones that aren't played much, but they probably aren't played much for the very reason that they still require flash.

Also these jackpots move incredibly slowly because the contribution rate is so low. When I was testing and wagering $3.50 a spin the second highest maxi jackpot was only increasing by a cent every 3 or 4 spins.
