How long can it take for a casino to verify wins with a game developer?

24 replies • Last post

I hear a lot lately that casinos delay withdrawals after players get a huge win because operators want to check with a game developer that the win is legitimate. It usually takes long, around two weeks, to hear that everything is ok. I wonder do casinos really contact developers and should it take so long to verify winnings? Seems like they are deliberately doing that and hope players would lose their money. They don't show any proof that they emailed a company and got a reply from them.

sure there are a lot of shady casinos out there with ridiculous terms & conditions..
trying as hard as they can to not paying out players winnings. i have already experienced a lot of unfair behavior myself and read about it. luckily you can protect yourself quite well from playing at this shady casinos by always reading the terms & conditions, check out the list of rogue casinos and warnings here at casino listings or simular websites and do a google research for unsolved complains at a particular casino

i have no answer to your actual question because i do not know the exact procedure but i am pretty
sure that both sides will do a securety check of your gaming transaction if we talking about huge winnings. i think the time frame varies very much from casino to casino.
there are casinos which need 5 days or even longer just to verify your account whereas other casinos do that in an hour.

I have no doubt that when a player hits a one in ten million combination that leads to a huge win that the casino wants to cover their arse and check that the game did not malfunction, along with running the usual bonus policy checks. But I cannot see how that can take more than say 48 hours. All they have to do is ask the provider to check the log of the spin and the generated RNG. It is all controlled on the server so players cannot influence the result of the game unless they are some uber hacker who has infiltrated the RNG server.

I suspect that delays of several weeks are mainly just a stalling tactic to either delay payment or encourage the player to play back winnings.

Yeah, this seems like a process that should be pretty quick. I'd think a business day would be about right to confirm and set the ducks in a row for payout.

That's what I though. It shouldn't take weeks. Some of you guys must have had some experience contacting developers. How long it takes to hear back from them?

Actually most game developers make it a policy not to respond to anyone except their customers which are the casinos. I've tried contacting a few over the years without much success. The only thing that consistently got a response was checking if a casino we suspected of running pirated game was legitimate or not.

Contacted providers a couple of times regarding this, but got no response.

I once waited for Bet 365 to come back to me for nearly 3 weeks regarding free spins on Halloween fortune by play-tech, my free spins got stuck and when I refreshed my browser they did not resume to cut a long story short they got back to me and simply said that its void and the spins wont be credited and they apologize for the inconvenience , was very unimpressed

I have never had a situation where I had to verify a win with a game provider but from what I have seen from other players, it really depends on the game provider. It can take a few days up to weeks.

Wow, you got it straight, man. Great. Bet365 is too strict about all kinds of verification from my experience.

Not sure which games, developers and operators. Sorry) Just stumbled upon a few complaints and then forgot about them. Was just curious how long it should take, because a couple of weeks sounds too long.

Hiya, so I think my situation falls into this category but not sure. Last night I was playing new slot The Prancing Pony from Pariplay on Novibet casino. Hit a bonus round and the total win was in excess of £8K. Sat watching he win clock up in big yellow numbers but my balance did not update to reflect the win. Stupidly did not think to screenshot or anything like that as I had no concerns....but still nothing this morning so Novibet have asked for the game ID which I can only guess at....based on a 2 minute gap between the spins...which would have been the time for the round to play, the total to be shown and me trying the refresh. Is this the kind of experience you guys are referring to in this thread?

Yeah that's what I referred to. Your operator should now contact Pariplay to find out what happened in your case. I was curious how long it takes for a casino to receive explanation from a developer in similar cases.

Geez panders, I hope you're ok. My fingers are crossed for you. I'd be a nervous wreck if I was in your situation.

Hi all, thanks for all your replies, well they got back to me yesterday to say that my win was 8250 coins and not £'s which I can understand could have been my mistake, BUT the reason I am concerned is that I was watching the £ win at the middle bottom of the screen which was displaying my win in £'s not coins....but I haven no proof of what I was seeing! I guess I have to suck it up- lesson learned in future take screenshots!

Wow. Something was not working correctly with their games. I know some casinos also make mistakes regarding currency symbols. For example, at Miami Club, I play in dollars, but I usually get the £ symbol when I try to redeposit money that was pending to be disbursed.

Don't they compensate players? At least for finding a bug. ELK and Yggdrasil seem to be reputable developers.

that is only my experience...but the casinos don't pompensate anything they say that
they will contact the developer and get back to you by email and then you get a standard mail
where they said: everything was normal and that the mistake must be on your side !
that has happened to me twice already

in one case i had a screen shoot of the situation. the game was freezing in the middle
of a bonus round and until then i had retriggered the free spins 3 times so 19 free spins
would have been left to play...
ok they added the money i won so far in that bonus round to my account but what about the expected
winnings of the 19 free bonus spins left. no compensation ...no free spins...no money...nothing

maybe you got a better chance to get compensated if you have a screen capture video of the
situation but who does that every time he plays ?

There was a similar case recently involving Push Gaming and their Wild Swarm slot. A player wasn't credited winnings seen on the screen. As you said, operator just replied that everything was ok. After contacting a game developer player was explained that there was a visual bug and that they would arrange some sort of bonus.

You are also right about having a video captured. As that player had everything recorded. Otherwise I doubt there will be any compensation offered.

unfortunately, you are completely powerless and you're relying on the goodness of the
casinos in such cases...but most casinos do not even think about compensating.
but to be fair .... i've also made some good experiences in this situations...
