StaffReckless Bets has it. What you have seen does not mean that your result was not random. It just means that the result of the bonus round is randomly pre-determined as soon as you get it. The spins are generated and played out on the server and then sent to your machine which then displays them. This way the round can be replayed with the same result if you machine is disconnected in the middle of it. It seems that the game got out of synch with the lobby and the lobby updated too fast.
Games that have pick'em style bonus rounds are often done like this. Despite seemingly giving you a choice of which item you pick to reveal a prize, it doesn't matter what you pick because you're always getting whatever the game has already picked (randomly) for you.

Why? It's still random, whether it immediately generates all the results or generates each spin over at a time after each spin. The RTP is all the same.
I agree though, it's kind of lame for picking bonuses that give you the appearance of having an influence over there results when you don't.
