Unity Web Player casino software

2 replies • Last post

I am not a fan of downloading any third party software and like to play either flash or html5 games. Recently came across thunderkick games and was surprised they use unity web player. I was quite curious if they are any other software providers using this plugin. I found wazdan in google search. Unlike thunderkick wazdan seems to be only in diamond world casino. Have you guys heard of any other software or casino that uses unity?

Yeah, there are a few casino developers that use Unity as the base for their casino games. Thankfully there aren't many, as the ones I have seen aren't exactly stable for me, as they crash a lot.

As you mentioned, Thunderkick and Wazdan do it, and there are a few more as well. Unity is a platform that a lot of video game developers use to develop games, and that may be the reason why you are starting to see the casino games going this way.

Most likely you won't find a whole casino running Unity right now, as the games are usually offered in conjunction with other developers, who offer their games in Flash or HTML5. I wouldn't mind the Unity plugin if it could be a bit more stable, but it has to have a lot of fixing done to make it more stable at least for me.

I am surprised to hear that because every Thunderkick game that I have played before did not require the Unity plugin. Is it only on their newer games?

I am aware of other games that use Unity but these are usually non-gambling games like in browser Quake Live or Unreal Tournaments style games.

When we reviewed Diamond World casino I basically would have stopped and left the site had I not been reviewing it because I'm not going to install extra plugins like that just to play some simple casino games. And the Wazdan games are simple looking things that look very much inferior to Net Ent, Microgaming, Quickspin etc.

Its a terrible business decision because not only do they have to convince people to sign up and deposit money, but they also have to convince us to install something extra that very few people have already. So they are bound to be losing customers like myself who could either not be bothered, are unable due to security restrictions, or just don't want extra plugins on their computers.

Also every new plugin you add to your web browser is a potential security problem and we all know how often we have to update Flash because of all the vulnerabilities that get discovered in its code. I would very much like to get rd of Flash as well.

Always play it safe! Consult our list of rogue casinos and warnings before depositing.
