Casino Listings HOLIDAY Contest: Win 100 CL Chips (Ends January 1, 2014)

Hello Casino Listings Members!

Announcing our contest for the month of December!

The theme this month is the holidays/Christmas. 'Tis the season, Friends! 🙂

And the subject is: GIFTS!

Here is all you have to do to enter.

1. Describe the funniest, strangest, most inappropriate, most useless,
bizarre, OR the most appropriate, thoughtful, sentimental, special CHRISTMAS/HOLIDAY gift you have
ever received OR given.

Tell us:
1) What was the gift? Please describe: details, details, details! (For example, was there
a gag involved or was it an unintentional, innocent blunder?)
2) Who gave and received the gift (names CAN be changed to protect
the innocent or embarrassed, if need be)
3)What was the gift the most inappropriate or strange or useless OR
why was the gift extra-special, thoughtful, or appropriate?

Tell us your "gift story," and be as funny, creative, OR as sentimental,
or touching as you can.

But we don't want to hear about just any old gift, we want those SPECIAL, FUNNY, and FUN stories, okay?

I do suggest you post throughout the month, not post a ton of stories in a row, because spreading our stories out a bit will keep the contest thread more active and interesting if we see a few posts each week of December, instead of a bunch at once. Of course it is up to you, this is just a friendly suggestion to keep the contest thread going throughout the month of December. 🙂

Enter up to 7X EACH! You are welcome to share more
gift stories if you have them, just know only the first seven will be
included as entries for the contest. Winner will be chosen by random
generator on or about January 1, 2014, and will receive a whopping
100 CL Chips!

Any Questions? PM Hope777

Love all your ideas and comments.Of course,Lucky and Hope,I am not sending that family any more gifts and if I get them in secret pal I will ask for someone else.Thankfully, they have left the site I belong to.
I almost forgot about the best gift [and most thoughtful] I ever received.A dear, close friend on that same site sent me a Christmas card in a secret pal box, filled with lovely gifts. She probably never knew how much that card meant to me.She knew I was a movie buff, and my card plays,"Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," sung by Judy Garland.I found my card in my Christmas decorations the other day and when I opened it,the tears flowed.I am so sentimental and I just love that old card.

That is a wonderful story. I love Judy Garland, too. Glad you saved the card for a nice memory, WildGeri. 🙂

That is too funny. That underwear had to be way too big for you at that age! Did she think you would "grow into them" or what? lol! Thanks for sharing. 🙂

Friends, I am just a little anxious about Mrs. Google this year, because my SIL and I usually plan it together. Her last email said, "Google taken care of," in passing, so either she just wants me to be surprised also, OR Mrs. Google could be planning to gift ME this year. I honestly hope it is the former. lol I will keep you posted. 🙂

My oldest brother told us a story about his wife, my SIL, and how she can't tolerate alcohol. One year at her Christmas party she had that second margarita and ended up getting sick. After hearing this, my middle son and I knew it was a perfect Mrs.Google opportunity. I bought a bottle of pre-mixed margaritas, and he made a special label. I found the worst photo of my SIL I could find, and we put that on the label along with something like, "The I don't get sick from tequila Margaritas," and other snappy little slogans around the bottle. She was slightly embarrassed but not embarrassed enough, because she had to bring it to work and show all her coworkers, lol.

Now I knew I would be able to make a late entry into this. I present to you ... the Cookie Cop. Kindly given to me by my mother yesterday, I can't decide whether it is the best or worst gift ever. His head flips back to reveal a hole where you can stash your cookies. But the act of opening his head causes him to bellow "Stop! Move away from the cookie jar!" in a very loud and clear voice that sounds like a cross between a typical TV beat cop and Robocop. So there's no way you can sneak a cookie out of this guy without everyone in the house knowing. On the other hand it's not air tight so the cookies won't last very long in there. My kids also think he is creepy because he has a moving mouth and eyelids that give him a bit of the old "Chucky" effect when he speaks. Tres weird.

Well, CL-Friends, as suspected, I was GOOGLED this year! Actually Mrs. Google addressed the gift to "Otis and me." 🙂

Inside was a dog-walking kit. There were two wine sippy cups: a clear sippy cup on the outside of a clear wine glass: one with a clear cover and one with a red cover, and I was told that is one for white wine and one for red wine, so I can drink as I walk, I guess, lol. I used to really enjoy wine, but for years now I RARELY drink, but maybe Mrs. Google did not realize this, but either way, I never know when the wine sippy cups might come in handy. No spilling as I walk my dear Otis, lol.

Even better, the kit included a leash made out of plastic hot dogs! I had to LMAO at the leash it is SO funny, and I have never seen anything like it before.

I hope to post a picture soon. I am being super lazy today recovering from the holidays, but I promise to get a photo posted in the next day or two.

My SIL drew my name, and I also received the CUTEST black and tan dachshund necklace. It is the Christmas of the dachsies, I guess, and I am loving it all. Hope to get a picture of that, too, if I can take a decent photo.

CL-Ed, the cop gift is kind of cute. It would be great for a tattle tale when the kids get in the cookie jar, but not so much if an adult. You might have to use some plastic bags to keep the cookies fresh if they will fit.

Yes, it was a fun one this year. Not embarrassing at all. I can't wait to post a picture. I now got it over with for several years now, lol, since there are plenty of family members who need to have a turn. 🙂

Didn't anyone else get anything special or funny THIS year? There is still time to post for the contest, CL Friends! 🙂

I have one more to post about when I get time. My brother and SIL bought my mom a very interesting Christmas gift. lol I will keep you in suspense while I wait for others to post. 🙂

Since it is the last day to enter the contest, I thought I would share with you what my brother and SIL bought my 85-year old mother for Christmas. I could hardly believe it when they told me they bought her a Ukelele! YES! That is what I said: a Ukelele! lmbo!

My mom goes to a park in Florida where the seniors have MANY activities to choose from. There is softball, computer classes, card games, karate, dance, synchronized swimming (which mom used to do), dancing, and I mean ANYTHING and EVERYTHING you can think of as far as activities. Name one, and they have it. So my brother and SIL went online to see the activities offered, and they noticed Ukelele lessons and out of the clear blue sky they decided this is something mom would want to do. lol!

When I talked to mom on the phone on Christmas Day she sounded very puzzled as to why someone would buy her such a gift. I said, "So, are you going to learn to play the Ukelele," and her response? "Well, I guess I will HAVE to!" lol!

Turns out it may have been meant to be. Her neighbors had a couple over, and the woman of that couple plays the Ukelele and told mom she would be her "mentor," and give her private lessons! So mom won't have to sign up and go down to the club house. She can now have private lessons in her home.

I don't know if she will learn the Hawaiian man's (Izzy's) version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow or if she will more enjoy Tiny Tim's Tiptoe Through the Tulips, but she is now determined to learn a song to play for the gift givers.

I told her we would have her play the song on YouTube and maybe the video will "go viral." 😉

Strange and funny gift, but who knows? If anyone can do it, my mom can, and at 85 years old. lol

I told her that is what you get for being the person who has everything! 🙂 😜

Heheh my daughter has a bright yellow ukelele and her school runs free lessons, and the parents can go and learn too if they want. So I took her along one time and had a great time but she never wanted to go back. I enjoyed it more than her and I'm gutted that she didn't want to keep going! To be fair it is pretty tough for a kid with small hands and my daughter isn't exactly the most determined little girl. When the going gets tough she gets going ... away.

That is great, WildGeri, do you still play? I know from trying to teach my mom computer things she is not the most patient, lol. Maybe it is just tech-related, though, and music will come easier for her. Who knows.

CL-Ed, when I was a kid I took piano and trumpet, because I wanted to play jazz like my dad. I then tried guitar, and I could not do it either. The strings hurt my fingers, and turns out I only learned to play a few songs. I only remember like two cords to this day. I was also in choir, and I loved music. I never learned to play like my dad, he was an amazing jazz musician, but I gave it a try. I am not the type for whom music comes naturally: even with the piano I had to read the music and work hard. I would like to have a piano in my home again someday. Just for my own pleasure. And a keyboard is just not the same. Maybe someday. 🙂

And I agree we are never too old to learn anything new. My mom always says, "I will try anything..........once." lol
