a goofy question

15 replies • Last post

i was fishing around google looking at online casino news and questions. and i have seen rumors and total bs like im sure we all have. but a few things caught my eye. i seen alot of posting about keeping your winnings under 200 a day or 1000 or less cash out each week. there was a few poker players that claim they were averaging 2500 a wk in winnings and the casino ended up banning them for it. does anyone know if this would even be true. i couldnt see a casino banning you for winning to often. does anyone know anything on this subject. πŸ™‚

Well not sure how they could players since some poker players play online for a living. Maybe it is the sites that are not reputable? Did they talk about specific sites doing the banning?

no that was just it non of them did say anything about that. that's y it looked fishy to me. i never heard of good casino banning for continual wins, regardless of the game table or slot. even on land casino's you have people that make there livings at the tables and as long as there not scamming they never get banned. im thinking they were rouge sites or those people are full of b.s. lol

Well, the only thing the casinos sometimes do when someone is winning a lot is to stop with the deposit bonus. Never saw anyone to be banned because of that reason. Somehow, at the end, the casino always win.

I did get my bonuses cut off but that was after I hit two nicer wins and it was at a rogue casino and it does state in terms and conditions that it is the casino's option to do this. but never heard of someone being banned but I haven't heard of anyone around here cashing out 2500 plus a week.

yea its was fishy thats why i figured i would make this thread to if anyone knew anything like that. there is a guy that plays at the same table i do for roulette (land casino) makes a few grand a wk but he never goes off his system and he has the bank roll to match it! and they treat him like gold so figured the online casinos would do the same or at least not ban anyone for it.

Yeah, casinos have the right to do a lot of things, but it is not necessarily the smartest business decision to do so. I mean the games are titled in the casino's favor, why wouldn't they want the punter to play for a longer period wherein they will almost certainly get their money back (with interest)?

The only reasons I have heard of a legit casino blocking people from depositing are cheating, fraud deposits, and bonus abuse.

I've been banned from a few casinos in my time for winning, but always after taking advantage of an overly generous bonus.

As far as poker goes, it doesn't make a huge difference to a poker site if a player is a winner or a loser as they make their money on the rake taken from each hands, not directly from player winnings. So it would be insane to ban a poker player just for winning, as they are likely to keep playing while they are winning which generates more rake for the poker site.

Ultimately the casinos can ban you any time, it's their site and they can do what they want. As long as they pay your winnings first before they ban you, then I don't have a problem with it!

It would definitely sound strange if an online casino would choose to ban a user for winning. Quite possibly, they are quite short on cash and cannot afford big payout streak. This is certainly a sign that such a casino should be avoided. Thing is, casino software/casino games themselves have inherent, built-in advantage of the house. So over the course of time, amount of money won from a casino will be exceeded by amount of money lost to a casino by average of 3-4% of the amount. That is just the way things work and there can only be some short-term sways in money in/out flow.
