Anyone into VIDEO POKER at Online Casinos?

13 replies • Last post

Funny, because that is a game I LOVE to play at the land casino. One of my biggest wins EVER at a land casino was hitting the Royal Flush on the 25 cent poker (1.25 per hand) machine for a cool $1,000.00. However, that was quite a few years ago now, but I still love the game.

I say funny, because I don't like playing video poker as much online as I do at the land casino, and I am not sure why? I usually only play the nickel choice (25 cents per hand then), but one reason is I never really win anything when I throw five to ten bucks into the machine.

I have only read of a few big wins from those playing video poker at the online casinos, too.

Does anyone enjoy this game online? Any big wins to speak of?

When I first started online gaming I played it but like you I won next to nothing and was bored to tears!!!! :'( I much prefer the reels with bonus rounds. I just 😍 bonus rounds.

video poker on land casino>online. Although, I was dealt a straight flush years ago when I played on bodog, now bovada. playing 10 play max bet at .05 jack or better, so turned 50 nickles into 2500.

That is awesome!

I really wish Bovada would update their slot formats. They are so behind the times in the area of slots. I have played slots there and Hold'em, but not the online video poker.

I wonder why it is that I so enjoy it at the land casino, not online, when it is basically the same exact game? I just don't get it, lol.

Of course when I first tried spinning a few reels online YEARS ago, I thought that boring, too, but how time changes things, lol.

Still I wonder what the difference is for me when it has always been one of my favorite land casino games? I like the ONE hand just plain old Jacks or Better when I do play at either place.

I used to play video poker at the land casinos many years ago. I could play for hours on $20.00. It is kind of boring for me now though. I occasionally play it at the land casino, but there is no way I can sit there for hours now. I'm a flitter. I flit from machine to machine now when I go.

I can't stand it. I find it so boring and I never win anything big. I would just assume spend the time playing something that challenges me a bit more, like blackjack or three card poker.

I just LOVE it at the land casino. I still can't figure out the difference. That is ALL I used to play besides Grand Nickels, a three reel progressive slot before I finally started to like other machines. lol

Speaking of three-card poker, I played here for the first time ever last night: the tri card poker game. That was REALLY fun! I will have to check it out for real money sometime.

Taking my time trying to figure out where I want my next deposit to be now. Waiting for a good deal or excellent promotion or thinking of possibly Slot O'Cash since it has been a while. I also like Bovada, because it has been as while and I can play slots OR Holdem there, depending upon my mood. I just wish they would update their slots there already! lol

Either way, taking a break for a day or two.

3 card poker can be tricky I play Queen 8 or higher, but the trick is making sure you get paid 6 for the straight and 4 for the flush, lots of places will pay 3 for the flush, stay away from those tables.

Good advice VPRoyalFlush. I hope that it pays off for me next time I look for a spot.

I love tri card poker. Its the only online card game I play and sometimes its real good and sometimes bad. I stay on queen nine or higher but I am a low roller 😉

Thanks for the advice. I just played for fun on this site, but I have never played for money yet. I appreciate the tip in case I ever do. 🙂

I agree with you hope - I'll play a bit of video poker whenever I visit a land casino but I don't play it much online unless its a bonus that requires it or makes it advantageous. I'm not sure why though - the game is essentially the same. Not like craps or roulette where you have the energy and excitement of loads of people crowded around a real table, which is so much better than playing online.

Yeah, I still cannot figure it out, and you make a good point about the "energy and excitement." I thought maybe it was because of my BIG WIN on video poker at the land casino, but that is not it, either. I did find a fun one at Slotland. It is called Wild Heart. It deals three hands and you get to eliminate one entire row (up and down, not straight across) before you deal again. Tigers are wild. That one kept my attention for a while.

Another reason I played is that most games at Slotland make you bet a huge minimum per spin. At least I could not find a way to lower the best on the games I tried before Wild Heart.
