I Just Lost $50 Playing War

10 replies • Last post

I just had a big error on my part that cost me $50.

I was playing at Liberty Slots and decided to try out War. I clicked the wrong chip and ended up losing $50 very quickly.

I didn't even notice what I had done until I looked at my balance.

What a boneheaded move!

Has this ever happened to you?

Sorry to hear this, 'Slim. And, yes, I have pressed MAX credits at the land casino, by accident, more than once. Of course, I couldn't HIT anything when I DO make that mistake, lol. I think they put the MAX CREDIT button right next to the respin button on purpose! A few times I hit it maybe three times in a row before I figured out my balance was going down quickly. SO frustrating when you can't take it back!

I think I shared in another message, a while back, where I was sitting next to a lady who was playing Betty Boop. I leaned over to her machine to show her something, and I accidentally touched the MAX CREDIT button! I could have crawled under the rug. I tried and tried to give her $2.50, and she wouldn't hear of it. Thank goodness it was someone NICE and not someone crabby. I don't even think I would have been as nice about it as she was! I was sooooo embarrassed!

Don't be too hard on yourself. What's done is done, and may Lady Luck start swinging YOUR way soon! 🙂

Yes! I did this at one of the casinos. I don't remember which one now. I thought I was playing 50 cents or less and was actually playing $5.00. I kept wondering why my money was going down very fast. This is why I like to play for free first. Sorry about your loss. 😢

Yeah, why can't we ever WIN when we make these mistakes?

My brother called me on his way home from the land casino a day or two ago, and it was before noon. He was playing at the Wicked Winnings carousel, which is a favorite game of his and one of my closest friends. Some young guys (under 20 years old) were playing on the opposite side. He heard a guy say, "You lucky "effer!" My brother went over there and the kid had been betting MAX (5 bucks a spin) and he hit 9 wicked (ladies) and the rest of the screen was covered with ravens.

Not sure if you know that game, but what it added up to was $9,000! Before NOON on a Wednesday, lol! I can't even imagine.......

Yeah it has happened plenty. I've bet the wrong amount, doubled instead of splitting, hit on 20 etc. The evil one is the Max Bet button on slots. Some casinos play all lines at your current coin size, but some increase the coin size to a maximum too.

Always play it safe! Consult our list of rogue casinos and warnings before depositing at a new casino.

I think that is the one downside to online betting. It is just too easy to make that mistake. I really kicked myself in the butt over that one.

Well, not only online betting, because I have never had that happen online (YET!), but only at the land casino. However, I see how it would be easy to do. I have also bet up too high on the poker machines at the land casinos, and you can't bet back down, you just have to play that hand before you can lower the bet for the next hand, so they really know how to make it so you are STUCK! (or they know how to stick it to us, lol).

Heheheee.... hate when that happens and it happens a lot, specially when my wife is rushing me to do something. Idk why there's a MAX BET button in a slot, i mean, how many guys bet max in a spin? One in 100.000?🤷? Doesn't make much sense because even if a player intend to bet max he will never be able to do it in one click without changing the coin value.

I know MANY players who will ONLY play max bet at the land casinos. They have more money than I do, apparently, lol. I think they definitely believe they will win more that way, but I know that is not always the case. On the land machines the max bet button is often positioned right next to the "respin" button, so you don't have to change the coin value to do that. If you accidentally hit "max bet" instead of "respin,' then you are placing a "max bet." I don't think that could happen with the only machines. The only way is if you don't notice it is set higher than you want it to be. I always double check before I start playing.

Never played in an land based casino. There's one near my city, 50 kms far from my home but i heard that the slots are a total ripp-off.
I can't imagine myselfe spinning max on a slot. Some slots have a 500€ max bet spin. How can anyone afford to spin with that amount of money? 40 spins x 500 is 20.000€!!!!! If i had 20.000€ to spend, what the hell was i doing in a casino.... I was in Brazil, on the beach, showing off to the brunettes my wonderful muscle body ( omg, what a lie!!!) llooll

LOLing @ yhou showing off to the brunettes and your wonderfully toned muscular body, lol. I guess you can be whoever you want to be on the internet, right? haha! 😉

'Paulo, I posted a story here a few days ago where some younger guys, in their early twenties won 9,000 on a land slot machine betting 5.00 a spin on a penny machine (this is the same machine I usually bet 50 cents a spin on, lol).

But, I agree. If I was going to spend 5.00 a spin, I would rather go over to the dollar machines, and play the 2.00 per spin max, like on the double diamonds, or even 3.00 per spin on the siizzlin sevens, because I think my odds would be much better playing the dollars!

Our land casinos are a lot of fun (in my opinion) but I do believe they have really tightened up their slots. I play much longer on my money online and I don't have to put gasoline in my car at almost 4 bucks per gallon. At first when I moved where I live now, I was worried, because there is a land casino only about 30 minutes away from me. I went a few times, and I soon realized it wasn't that much fun. The one I like best is further away, but I do enjoy going like every other month or so with my brother or my one friend who likes to gamble (partners in crime, lol).
