My First Jackpot Win!

5 replies • Last post

Hey guys,

I have been away on a cruise for the last week, and have been away from any form of technology (very refreshing!).

While on the cruise ship I tried to stay away from the casino, as I have heard nothing but bad things for payouts and odds. This is indeed true, as the blackjack was poor, and the table limits were pretty high.

One night though I was waiting to pick the kids up from their kid's corner thing, and I decided to drop a few bucks at the casino on a slot. I ended up spinning the reels all of three times on this diamond re-spins game with a classic look and 5 reels. I ended up getting green diamonds across on a payline, which set off a nice win and then put me up to a top screen where i hit a spin stop to unveil numbers on a grid. On that grid if I lined up three numbers, I would win a mini, midi, major, or mega jackpot.

I ended up hitting the mini for a whopping $14.00, but ended up winning $135.60 on my spin of $5.00. I ended up just cashing out and going to the bar to have a whiskey sour.

Still... my first jackpot win! Smile

Congratulations!

But er... $14.00. Is that decimal point in the right place? Joking

Anyway at least you did the good thing and cashed out ahead.

Congrats on your jackpot (sort of) barbadosslim93. Casinos on cruises have very low payout percentages because they don't have have to compete with other casinos for your money. In the United States, the same is true for Indian Casinos, because they tend to be on Indian reservations that are far away from any other casinos. If you are looking for better payout percentages, make sure there is more than one casino near the casino where you are playing at.

Yeah, I am not big on cruise betting, but really just wanted to kill some time. We do have two Indian casinos within 45 minutes of me, but I generally like to go to people watch and maybe play the tables. I wish I could get payout rates for those spots to see how they stack up though!

It would be good to know what these payout rates are for us to make informed decisions. But as you know, Indian casinos are not regulated, like Las Vegas or Atlantic City casinos. So, they can pretty much set their own payment rates to whatever they wish.
