My Luckiest Land Experience Ever

11 replies • Last post

I had my best land experience ever yesterday! My wife has been doing mystery shopping, and we had to head out to Mount Pleasant to go to a restaurant to rate them (free meal!), and we ended up at the Soaring Eagle Casino beforehand.

I ended up going to a progressive 3 reel slot that's max bet was $0.75/spin. The jackpot was $5,400 ish bucks, which I unfortunately couldn't haul in. On my second spin though, I hit 3 diamonds which gave me 15 spins with a 2x multiplier.

I ended up racking up $114 on the spins, which is the best I have ever done at that casino. I wanted to play the Family Guy slot, but couldn't get an open seat to save my life. Instead I headed to a video blackjack game where the dealer is projected on the screen. I ended up playing for 35 minutes tying to fill up my wife's comp card. I ended up down $2, which isn't bad considering the entertainment I was getting.

My wife also hit a nice streak on a machine and finished up $50, which resulted in a nice little experience, since all we were doing was killing time until the restaurant would have us.

I ended up racking up the comp points on her card and she got another $10 in free play, plus we now have enough comp value to get some money off the casino's ridiculous nice buffet.

I can't wait until her next mystery shop. We are planning to do this every few months.

Hey Slim, that sounds like a fun trip Must be the week for land casino experiences, as I have a story of my own I almost hate to tell you now, lol

I have a friend who does that secret shopping, and has gotten free movies, health club memberships, and meals, so that is great. You can't beat a free meal if it is a good one!

Glad you were able to play for a long time. That is my greatest issue with the land casinos. I hate when the machines just eat up your money and that is it. If a machine at least allows me to play a while then I am happy.

Congrats on your win. I will share my news soon, but my sons are on their way over and I only have a minute.

Getting a free meal while winning money sounds good to me. How was your food by the way? Glad your wife won too. It makes it more fun when both people win.

Hey 'Slim, I hope you don't mind if I piggyback off your thread with my own experience. Seems silly to make yet another thread, and I had an excellent time at the Grand Casino Hinckley with my brother last week.

We had planned to stay just Tuesday night, but my brother and I hadn't gotten together in forever, so I guess we are just bad influences on one another. When Wed morning rolled around and there was a flyer under the door to stay one more night for $19.99 we looked at each other and started laughing, then soon after made the decision to go for it for ten bucks each. And I am every glad we did!

On Wed morning I was about even from the day before, having been down, then up, down then up, and I may have been even a bit ahead, possibly like thirty to fifty dollars up. I had the money from DAY ONE tucked away and I had my budget for DAY TWO.

Wed I played a while, but then I got really tired. I love playing in the middle of the night when it is quiet in the casino and I had gotten up WAY too early, cuz I had thought we were leaving that day. So I played a bit, but then I went up to the room. My brother had to run some errands and I hung out in the room most of the afternoon, watching TV and dozing on and off. About 4:30 to 5pm I decided to go down and give a few machines a try. I was about even again when I went down.

I played some new candy machine by putting in 100 dollars and decided to play it down to 80 then just use the same ticket on what I played. I played it down but when it hit over 100 again I decided to just play it down to 100 again and cash it out, cuz the machine wasn't impressing me.

FIRE BALL! I then moved to a machine I had played on and off several times during my stay. There were two of them across from one another but side by side with some distance in between and I chose the one to the left. I was interested in these machines, because my friend had told me her husband had won $160.00 on Fire Ball on Monday, betting only 40 cents per spin. Now I have NO IDEA what possessed me, but I decided to play my hundred down to 80 betting the MAX (and you all know I am not a max better, lol). Earlier when I played I had been changing my bet up and down at random. Max was $2.00 per spin.

This machine is huge and when you hit the bonus (FIRE BALL!) you look up to a huge screen where the bonus round plays out. The fire ball chooses three to four out of like six to eight possible bonus rounds where a jackpot template comes up and then the wheels spin and you get what you hit. Earlier, I had gotten anywhere from 8 dollars to 60 dollars on the bonus rounds.

When I was down to $86.00 I hit the bonus round. The first one I hit the minor jackpot which was almost 60 dollars, so I figured that was it. Then the second one started spinning and I watched as it said JACKPOT......JACKPOT.....JACKPOT! And the jackpot was................$956.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Smile Party

I sat there with my mouth hanging wide open, lol. Seriously, my friends, I was STUNNED! I ended up playing my total down to 1180.00, because I was NOT going to give any portion of that money back, but I had to spin a few more to see if it was still alive. I ran to the redemption machine with my knees shaking, lol, and I ran up to my room to tuck that money away NOW!

The last time I cashed out over $1,000 was MANY YEARS AGO when I hit a royal flush on a 25 cent poker machine. I was absolutely so happy, because honestly? I NEVER win (and my friends and family KNOW this about me, lol, but then I only go to the land casino maybe three to five times per year). Of course I had to call my sons, my friend who told me about her hubby playing Fire Ball, and my brother was thrilled for me when he returned.

Later that night I was playing nickel poker (with that original 100) and I hit a royal with the one-eyed jack for another $150.00. lmbo!

So I DID leave the casino when all was said and done $1,000, probably a little more, but at least $1,000 UP for the two days.

Felt SO darn good to finally win. And usually when two people go, one wins and one loses, but my brother left at least 400 ahead. My friend who was there on Monday had told us the slots were tight, so I was worried, but it turned out to be an awesome trip.

Sorry so long, but you know me. haha! Wink

Great win, Hope! I actually wanted to play Fireball, but it was also all occupied at my casino (and it sat right next to Family Guy).

You know what I like almost more than playing? I love going around and just seeing all the different games and styles for each slot. My wife and I walked around probably 3 times just noting all the different neat stuff that we kept seeing.

I hear ya, 'Slim. What's cool to me, too, because I go so seldom, is every time I go to one of the casinos it is like a brand new casino, since they are constantly changing. I can't believe the awesome graphics on some of the games now.

I had a lot of fun on this one I like a lot with Penguins, Polar Bears, and pretty Emeralds, too. It doesn't pay huge, but it did get me back up when I was down a few times.

Now the Wicked Winnings I have a love/hate relationship with, because they can be so fun when hitting but when they are not, they are NOT. I played just a little on the penny ones and I hit ONE nice bonus round, but after that the machine just DIED. I guess it is also knowing when to walk away.............lol.

I think some of the new and themed machines are tight, because they figure people will play them anyway, for the novelty, so I did not try the Betty Boop Fortune Teller as much as I wanted to. I DID try a cute one with the old gang from the Archie comic books, and that certainly brought me back, but it didn't pay me or let me play very long.

Glad you had a good trip!

I never win too! A friend of mine is ****-lucky when it comes to gambling - She probably won over 10k in the last year... and she's not gambling *that* much!

Still, I bet it feels awesome lol And if you can do it, I can do so too! Wink

Hope, That is a fascinating looking game. Looks like it would be so much fun to play it. We don't go to the land casinos very often either and each time we go back there are new games!

I so rarely win, which is why I go to the land casino only four to five times per year. I used to say when I did win I wouldn't be able to be excited anymore, because I would just be getting back what they owe me through the years, lol. Still, I did enjoy hitting that jackpot! I won't go back to the land casino now for quite a long time.
