... Is this a common sign up - match $deposit bonus rule?

16 replies • Last post

I've only been playing a short while but have experienced a few let's say "slightly suspect" operations which I now try very hard to avoid ... or maybe not really that hard but anyways I signed up yesterday on a 100% match bonus with 20 x wagering etc etc only to discover 10 minutes later that actually, I probably need to pay more attention & possibly disregard what seems to be the majority of Casino Review sites?

.....anyways, you tell me,?

23:00 Your Question:

Hi,

I joined yesterday and can see the 100% match deposit bonus was added however I don't seem to be able to access it to play?

regards,

23:00 Please wait, an operator will be with you shortly.

23:00 You are now chatting with Patrik N (Customer Service) - English

23:00 sevenz: hello Pastrik

23:00 Patrik N: Hello Robin, one moment and I will have a look at your account.

23:01 sevenz: "Patrik"

23:01 sevenz: sorry

23:01 sevenz: thanks

23:04 Patrik N: To be able to play for the bonus money you have to get them to your main account. In order to get them to your main account you have to wager the money first. You wager the bonus money with the money on your main account.

23:05 sevenz: I don't understand?

23:05 sevenz: i deposited $50

23:05 sevenz: spent it

23:05 sevenz: & now it just say's no balance ?

23:06 sevenz: "play for"

23:06 sevenz: what does that mean?

23:06 sevenz: "play with"?

23:07 sevenz: mate, the more i read it the more it confuses me?

23:09 sevenz: hello?

23:10 Patrik N: One moment please.

23:12 Patrik N: Our welcome bonus works like this: When you make your first deposit you will receive your
deposited amount into your main account and then we will match the same amount on you bonus account. In order to play for the bonus money you have to get them to your main account. To get the bonus money to your main account you have to wager them 20 times. The bonus is paid out in stages of 10%. You wager the money on your bonus account with the money on your main account
.

23:12 sevenz: one?, I feel as though I've just spent 15 minutes speaking to myself?

23:13 sevenz: wtf?

23:13 sevenz: so basically

23:13 sevenz: your match deposit bonus

23:13 sevenz: is bullshit?

23:14 sevenz: I've never encountered anything like it?

23:15 sevenz: you are series too?

23:15 sevenz: serious?

23:15 Patrik N: At the moment you have finished 10.79% of your bonus and got paid out $5 to your main account.

23:15 sevenz: you're f kidding me?

23:16 sevenz: so in order to get the 100% match sign up bonus

23:16 sevenz: I need to deposit

23:16 sevenz: and wager $500

23:17 sevenz: to get the $50

23:17 sevenz: you already owe me ?

23:17 Patrik N: In order to get the full bonus amount payed out to your main account you need to wager $1000.

23:17 sevenz: because I already lost $50

23:18 sevenz: and you're saying I reached 10%?

23:18 sevenz: that my friend

23:18 sevenz: is

23:18 sevenz: THE

23:18 sevenz: BIGGEST

23:18 sevenz: FUCKING

23:18 sevenz: SCAM

23:18 sevenz: I

23:18 sevenz: HAVE

23:18 sevenz: EVER

23:18 sevenz: COME

23:19 sevenz: ACROSS

23:19 sevenz: .......tell you what

23:19 sevenz: since you've managed to completely shaft me

23:19 sevenz: Im

23:19 sevenz: going to print

23:19 sevenz: preach

23:19 sevenz: and

23:20 sevenz: scream

23:20 sevenz: this utter

23:20 sevenz: nonsense

23:20 sevenz: all over

23:20 sevenz: every social media outlet possible

23:20 sevenz: UNBELIEVEABLE!

23:20 Patrik N: Our bonus terms is stated under our terms and conditions.

23:21 sevenz: buddy

23:21 sevenz: I don't care if it's tattoo'd on your forehead

23:21 sevenz: i read your terms

23:21 sevenz: ...then again?

23:22 sevenz: maybe I should have paid a little more attention

23:22 sevenz: which

23:22 sevenz: I will do on my way out

23:22 sevenz: bye bye

Dear Sevenz,

From 23:18, the conversation is very interesting, hahaha Smile

Yeah, there are quite a few types of Welcome Bonuses and in each type, they can be slightly different in details, from casino to casino.

I experienced exactly the same feeling of yours above.
I got to know about this type of 10% increment firstly with VideoSlots Casino.
I remember that I deposited $100 and plus some more, but lost all eventually.

So, at first, I felt very bad, even cheated, but, later I found that this was just one type of bonus and actually the VideoSlots Casino was very good in other points.

Anyway, probably there are dozens of casinos which impose the Cash Wager for the bonus to be given.
Right now, I remember that Royal Panda Casino and SmartLive Gaming are in this category for the bonuses.

Checking with Live Support about the Bonus T&Cs, you can ask them as below, for example.
- When I deposit $100 for 100% Welcome Bonus, do I start to play with $200 or $100??

I hope that you would feel better and win more from now on.

Good Luck Smile

these types of bonuses are bs in some ways but it could actually be beneficial if they allow you to withdraw and forfeit the bonus amount without any strings attached if you were down.

Yeah, that is right.

A few casinos divide the balance into withdrawable cash and lock-in bonus, and allow you to forfeit the bonus to withdraw the cash.

This type of bonus is very good for a player like me who like Live Casino, because I can play for Live casino firstly and if I win big at the beginning, I can just withdraw the cash.

Sadly, this usually doesn't happen and you would lose all of your winnings usually. Since most casinos still want to protect themselves against advantageous players and semi-noncashable bonuses are just way too damn generous.

I cannot wait to hear CL-Ed's "take" on this one. Smile

Yeah, very sadly, there are too little number of casinos to allow the players to forfeit the bonus and withdraw the winnings.

Moreover, even though I sometimes win pretty good money at the early stage, I can't just stop there, and then, keep playing to lose all, hahaha Smile

Cheers for the patience Smile

Without knowing the casino and being able to read the terms it is hard to say for sure, but it sounds like a bonus where you make a deposit and are given the bonus money up front. The bonus money is held separately in a "bonus" balance which you can never withdraw from, and it is transferred across to your cash balance in 10% increments as you play and progress through the wagering requirements. As soon as the money is in your cashable account you can withdraw it, and it sounds like you may even be able to forfeit the remaining bonus funds if you have an early win (this is good if true).

If my assumptions are right, then it may in fact be quite favourable to you as a player, as the wagering of only 20x is very low. However what I could not be sure of from reading the chat was whether you could wager with the bonus money while it is in the bonus balance or not. The information given by the customer service agent was not very clear in that respect.

sevenz: if you could let us know what the casino is, I'll go and read their terms to try to understand exactly how it works.

It looks like he is unable to actually wager the bonus amount hence he felt like he got shafted.

Yes that's what I thought but it wasn't really clear. If so that would make it a post-wager reward that is released in increments. Without doing the maths, I'd reckon that it is still a pretty good deal at only 20xB, even if you don't get the money up front.

I actually quite like post-wager bonuses (which are very rare these days) because your funds are never locked in at any time and after you have wagered the required amount you get an extra bit of cash in your account that can be instantly withdrawn. I'm curious to know which casino this is so I can check out exactly what this bonus is.

I don't know whether to feel bad for service reps or not.
I've definitely been sevenz before, both situation and dialogue.
I know reps are humans too, except for when they're robots, but they must know
how unhelpful they can be.
On the rare occasion that I get good customer service, I praise them to high heaven

I guess that this is VideoSlots Casino.

Somehow, I am kind of familiar with agent's name - Patrik N. and I think that it was in VideoSlots Smile :)

And the bonus feature (10% increment, wagering 20 x , bonus amount) is exactly the same with that of Videoslots, too.

And above, I mentioned the Royal Panda Casino has the same type of bonus, but, upon checking again, they don't do the 10% increment, but the requirement can be wagered only with cash balance (This is worse Sad )

I think you are right coolsongss. It does look like the bonus at Video Slots Casino. I went there and read through all the fine print though and I still cannot tell if the bonus money is playable or not before it gets converted to cash in 10% increments. When I first played there the bonus was different. I'm going to try to find out for sure.

However, even if the bonus money is unplayable until you convert it to cash, it is still good value. 20xB wagering is very low, and games with a RTP below 96% even contribute more towards the wagering requirements. For example if you play a slot that pays back 95%, each dollar wagered reduces the wagering requirements by $1.25. Of course games that pay back more than 96% reduce the contribution. I think that overall that is an excellent and very fair system.

Hi, CL-Ed, as I remember about VideoSlots Bonus, the bonus comes into the account as real cash in 10% increment. In the my page menu, it shows the progress in green color. When the player loses it, he has to deposit again. So, players can't wager with the remaining bonus money.

And thank for RTPs and wager contribution rates information.
I didn't know the exact meaning of it before you post it above.
