Betting on Champions League

I bet on the games now and then. You are right - it can be hard to predict but that is what makes it fun!

For next week, Manchester United look a good bet away to Oţelul Galaţi who have lost their first 2 matches so they will have to play for a win if they are to have any chance of getting 2nd or 3rd spot. That should mean ManU get a few chances to score in an open game even though they are away from home. The odds will be short though, so maybe a bet on Man Utd at -1.5?

Real Madrid vs Lyon is usually a good game to watch. Madrid at home will be hard to beat though.

6-8 games on one accumulator is too many for me. The most number of games I usually add to one ticket is 3 or 4.

Well well well all I can say is that I am glad I didn't have time to put a bet on last night. There were upsets and surprises galore. I was going to do a 3 match multi with Barca, Milan and Arsenal all to win. Glad I didn't now!

APOEL Nicosia leads group G now which must be the biggest surprise so far.

My picks for tonight: Man United, Bayern and Ajax to all win at home and Man City to win away at Villarreal. Villarreal are having a horrible season and half their squad is injured. They have to win to have any chance of getting to the next stage and that will leave gaps for city to exploit.

The hardest to pick must be Trabzonspor vs CSKA Moscow. They both have 4 points, and the game could be critical in determining which of the two progresses. I wouldn't be surprised if CSKA "parks the bus" and plays for a point.

By the way, is anyone out there watching or betting on the Europa League, the former UEFA Cup? Even though it's a second-class tournament, I still enjoy watching it because the quality of play is quite strong and because it features a more colorful mix of teams. This is in contrast to the Champions League, which by the quarterfinals will be down to the 6 or so teams it always comes down to 🙂
