aussie style slots

3 replies • Last post

Hi guys, just thought I'd ask why I never see the great slot machines I play in bars and clubs in nz, not available at online casinos? Many of the online casino slots are pretty bland compared to the pokies
I have played. Just an observation.

Hi Thomas, I'm an Aussie so I think I'm qualified to answer! The reason is that most of the popular pub pokies are manufactured by Aristocrat and they don't license their games for online play.

But you can find online games that are all but the same as the Aristocrat ones, with slightly different features, or just different graphics. eg Indian Dreaming with the 243 ways to win - now you can play several very similar games at Microgaming casinos like Thunderstruck 2 and Burning Desire. A game like Tigress with stacked wild symbols and free spins is very similar to Microgaming's Deck the Halls machine which is Santa-themed and no-one seems to play it unless its Christmas time. Rip-offs of Queen of the Nile can be found at almost any online casino now.

Just as a FYI, if you're looking for a local casino, the Casino Rewards group of casinos - eg Golden Tiger, Casino Action, Blackjack Ballroom, Captain Cooks and more - while legally incorporated overseas, all have Aussie staff as their support and operations are run out of Bondi.

No problem. Actually you tweaked my memory and I thought I read that Aristocrat recently announced they were going to start licensing their games for online play. And here it is, about 2 weeks ago:

Aristocrat Leisure and GameAccount enter the fray

I also found a press release on their site.
