Sports Betting Experiences

Where's your favorite spot to place your bets? What's the biggest win that's ever come your way?

I've read about some recent wins on various Super Bowl bets. I can't say I've ever had much luck but I'm willing to try again and I need a great site.

Share your experiences....

I like Betfair but for the newbie it can be intimidating. Its a betting exchange which means you place bets against other people, not the bookie, so it works a little like a stock exchange. You generally get better odds because you aren't paying the bookmaker a commission. It also allows you to "lay" or bet against a team.

However where it isn't so good is accumulator bets. Thats where you bet on multiple matches in one go and the odds are multiplied. So if you pick all the winners correctly you win a big prize. I'll try a few others like BetFred, Centrebet, or Bet365 if I'm doing an accumulator which is my favourite - I pick 4 or 5 soccer matches and put $10 on, on a weekend. Yes, I am not a huge sports bettor!

The biggest single accumulator I have won was a bit over $600 on a $10 bet. Not bad but it doesn't happen often!

Thanks Ed. I think I'm gonna take a look at the horse races at Betfair. Wish me luck!

Good luck! The horses on Betfair are insane - just watching the mountains of money on each horse and the odds changing by the second can be entertaining in itself.

I have bet on horse racing. It just recently became legal in my home state to place sport bets. I grew up with the horse racing. My dad was a huge track man. I use to pick up all the losing tickets on the ground as a kid at the track.

One time my sister found a winning ticket and i remember being soooooooo mad that i didn't. It only made her and me feverishly look that much more every time we went!

Biggest win i ever had at the track was a trifecta for over $1000!

Believe it or not, I've never tried sportsbetting. That's the type of gambling that I've always disliked for no apparent reason. The only thing I'd perhaps try is betting on horse racing, as I love horses, and it's always seemed kinda glamorous when I watched it on TV. 🙂
