EwalletXpress is down for deposits.....the question is why???

16 replies • Last post

Hi CL Members,

EwalletXpress has been down now for three days. The original reason given was due to a "upgrade". It is up now but customers can't make a deposit! There is a note at the site that says "technical difficulties".

I contacted live support and asked them if they are no longer accepting US players. After a very long pause i am told that "we should be up soon". This didn't answer my question!! I asked again if US players will no longer be able to make deposits. No answer for which i say "hello" and the rep says "yes". Ok, yes what? Yes you are there, yes we can make deposits?? Again i ask the rep if US will be able to make deposits after the "tech difficulties" are resolved. She replies "yes".

I am not feeling to confident about her answer. Has anyone heard anything?

Strange. It sounds like U.S. players are running into more and more difficulties like this all the time.

It's like they're narrowing the circle around US online players, trying to get them to abort all online playing. Didn't Starlight also stop working for Rivals recently?

Not only are they not accepting deposits, they are not paying out withdrawals. I have $3000 I'm trying to get paid out on. Plus I have another $1000 that was sent from Manhattan Slots on Monday to eWalletxpress -- but it doesn't show in my balance yet. It seems as though my funds are being held hostage. I'm open to suggestions.

Might be a good idea to try to reverse that withdrawal at Manhattan Slots excite - if you still can - and ask for a cheque instead.

eWalletXpress support is being a little evasive. Reading between the lines my guess is that they have run into trouble with U.S. authorities and are trying to either shut down to U.S. customers or build a new processing network.

Quicktender / UseMyWallet still seems to be the way to go. You will need to ask your casino if they can get you an account.

Thanks for the idea. Too late though. I tried calling Manhattan Slots on Monday after they said they made the payout. It's already gone ... I spoke with Manhattan Slots again this evening. Customer Service indicated they expected more info from eWalletXpress late this week. In the meantime, eWalletXpress has been removed from their deposit options but is still valid for withdrawals.

It is really a mystery. What is really strange is there is not a lot of talk about this. I have googled to get some insight and nothing is out there. I would think with a processor being down it would be the hot topic of conversation right now.

What i did find is that eWalletXpress had this problem last year. They were shut down for two weeks before they were up and operational again. It has been rumored that they are not going to accept US players anymore but then again nothing has been confirmed.

If they are waiting to make that announcement, they may be waiting til all transactions have cleared the customers bank before doing so to prevent anyone from stopping payments.

Only time will tell and all we can do is wait and see.

Now that is strange. Withdrawing to ewx sounds a bit risky - your money could end up in limbo somewhere like you have found out.

I just checked the ewx website and if you try to sign up, the only option you have to pick from for your country is Canada. So I got onto the live chat and asked them...

Quote:

Me: New account for USA resident?

You are now speaking with Trevi of Customer Service.

Trevi: Currently all US registrations are unavailable due to a system upgrade. We do not know when the service will be fixed. We appreciate your patience, and advise to check for an update tomorrow.

Me: ok so I should be able to register tomorrow then?

Trevi: You can try back then to see if the issue has been resolve.

Trevi: Thank you for contacting our office. Is there anything else I may assist you with?

Sounds temporary, although the "system upgrade" story is total BS. If they had totally banned U.S. customers they would most likely tell new ones that they can no longer register, not to come back later. Fingers crossed.

I also inquired about Canadian usage. Here was my chat session. It seems to indicate the no one can use the system presently.

John-Henry: Hello. We are very sorry, depositing and payouts are down. It's a
technical issue on our end and we do not know when it will be restored. It is
being fixed so keep an eye on your account, sign in and check hourly as your
account will be updated with messages should anything change. Please note that
the bonus option is not an option for you as a means of compensation while the
service is down. It can only be used by those who have gotten an email stating
they qualify for it. We do not know when the service will be fixed so as
advised, keep referring back to your eWalletXpress account to see if the
depositing option is available.
Me: Is the system only down for US players?
Me: Or can Canadian players still use the system?
John-Henry: No, sorry, its down for usa and Canadian customers
Me: Ok. Thank you. I'll check back tomorrow.

I'm still hopeful ...

Latest update from what I have been able to discover:

There are unconfirmed reports of ewx telling merchants that their funds have been frozen by the US DoJ. The line given by customer support is still the technical difficulties / system upgrade BS. The longer this goes on the more obvious it is that they are not telling the truth. If the DoJ story is true, then it is very bad news as it could be a long time before funds are released.

If it is still possible, I would recommend transferring your money from ewx back into a casino you trust, and then request a check, Quicktender or ACH payment. Otherwise it sounds as if you will have to let the money sit there until this mess is sorted out.

Ewx did have a similar issue to this last year where they were down for a week or two and they did resume operating normally. However there is just not enough confirmed information around at this stage to say for certain that history is repeating.

I think what is bizarre too is that there has been no official statement on this yet from the US. I know when other casinos or processors were ceased it was front page news. Why all the hush hush about it?

I makes me think that the bust was not about US players but something much bigger is going on here that no one once to release to the general public yet. Maybe there is an investigation of some type that until confirmed there is no legal action as of yet.

I suppose we could speculate til the cows come home........

Well I have some positive news ... The last $1000 or so that was transferred from Manhattan Slots to EwalletXpress was returned to my casino account. The casino had originally transferred the funds on 11/15 -- but they never showed in my EWX account. I'm working with the casino now to get paid out through another means -- preferably ACH. I'm not optimistic about the other $3K I have in EWX though. Some is better than none though.

I am having this same problem with quicktender (USEMYWALLET). I can't make a deposit to save me life! I was told I will be able to make a deposit by 7:00 or 7:30 pm this evening. We will see!

Good to hear you got the $1000 back excite.

re the $3000 in ewx - Pmsqueen posted here that she was able to request a withdrawal from ewx via live chat. Though it still remains to be seen whether the money is actually paid.

Something is definitely up ... ewx down, Quicktender having difficulties and the strange message I got in a popup at English Harbour yesterday - "we recommend depositing via Amex or Mastercard this weekend". Maybe Visa is cracking down like Mastercard did a few months back.

.Let's face it--an online wallet is just that--an ONLINE WALLET. It is nobody's business what we spend our money on. What if we wanted to buy shoes with the money in our online wallet!

Maybe the U.S. should just shut up and compete with the competition.
