Ok so being from the US i am not allowed the luxury of playing Lord of the Rings. But........guess what!! They have it at the land casino......weeeeeeee!!
I made a trip to the land casino ready to play what i always do.......Video Poker. As i was walking through the casino lo and behold there it was! At first i thought it was a mirage. Could it be true? Will i finally get my chance to play this ever so talked about slot?
The slot is absolutely beautiful. There is only one row of 5 slots. The seats are plush and there is an over head view when you hit the bonus. The graphics are stupendous and the movie clips are amazing. With only 5 seats, well you can imagine there was a wait of people trying to get on it.
I thought for sure i will never get to play. I passed it several times with no luck at all for an open seat. As fate would happen i stumbled across it again while strolling the casino without even realizing it. As i was walking by a player happen to get up. I look around and not a soul was waiting......now that was luck!
Unfortunately my luck stopped right there. I put a $20 bill in the machine and played the lowest denomination. I went through that in like 10 minutes. Knowing it will be a long time before i can ever play again i put one more $20 in. Again, it took my money faster than a New York minute.
To be honest i didn't really get the game. I found it to be a bit confusing. There was free spins i collected and have no clue how i did. It gave me the option to save my free spins or play them now.
I was not impressed. Maybe because i didn't win or didn't understand it.
I am curious to know if the online version is easier to understand or has anyone wondered what the heck is going on.
Different games. The land based one is made by WMS (that link has screenshots) while the online one is Microgaming.
Oh and this might make you sad .. WMS is launching their own online casino soon with some of the same games as the land casinos. Stuff like Wizard of Oz, Star Trek, Zeus, Enchanted Dragon etc. I'll have to email and ask if they will have their version of Lord of the Rings. If you want to take a sneak peek check out jackpot party dot com.
So why will that make you Sad Usne? No Americanos. Sorry
Always play it safe! Consult our list of rogue casinos and warnings before depositing at a new casino.

thanks Ed that jackpot party site looks really cool. nice to see some real vegas slots online.
Usne the lord of the rings online is pretty simple. in fact every time i have played it has hammered me just about as quick as the one you played at the land casino!
Yeah, I had a similar experience with online LOTR - it just didn't pay off and it wasted my money before I could say "cookie!" But it's really beautiful and catching, so I guess that's why it drives you to spend more and more...
Yes it does make me sad.
One Lord of the Rings slot franchise was issued to the online casino software provider Microgaming who are bringing the Lord of the Rings slots online, the first of which is complete. The online version of the Lord Of The Rings isn't just exclusive to Microgaming casinos as it turns out. Because they produced a Flash version too, it is now also part of the games suites at Virgin Casinos and also available in the Games section at Bet365.
Peter you are correct. Its actually making our job difficult keeping track of which casino has which software these days!
A lot of the software companies are starting to license their games to various different casinos who are able to run them all under the same umbrella. Cryptologic has been doing this for a while now too, especially with their Marvel slots.
Usne, I thought you would like this site: www.playerslife.com.
Its another WMS site with flash games you can play which earn you bonuses that you can use the next time you play the real slots at the casino.
Oh wow Ed way cool! I just had a look at it. What a awesome idea. Why didn't i think of a site like this! I even saw a gift from Caesars Palace Las Vegas! So it is not for fly by night casinos either. If i win anything i will let you know!
Yes I think I can see where they are going with this. If ever the U.S. starts to regulate online gambling it won't be long before the vegas casinos will come in and allow you to play the same games at home as the casino - and then link them up so that you can continue playing between the two.
Also an interesting article yesterday about Genting Casino in England. They have started allowing players to deposit and withdraw from their online accounts at their land based casinos.
The land casinos have to compete with the online casinos and that is certainly one good way to do it. I am sure when the ban is lifted in US the land casinos here will do the same thing.
