Hi CL Members,
I got to thinking about Woz's comment about VIP status for RTG casinos. I have had VIP status and the perks are wonderful. Daily free chips, great deposit bonuses with low WR and a nice monthly loyalty cash return. But in just a matter of one day your status can go from hero to zero.
Seems VIP status is judged by day to day activity. I do know i still receive great deposit bonuses with 20 x WR. I am not so sure thats because of VIP status though. Also i learned when taking a deposit bonus the free chips are not there.
Does anyone know how long a player is considered to be a VIP before they are dropped in status?
Frankly, I think it's totally up to the casino management's assessment. If they think you're not getting back with more deposits (because you haven't deposited for a long time, or you've been only using the free chips, without depositing) they may take you off the list for free chips (it makes sense, why would they waste money and not get any positive feedback in return). However, from my experience, even a small deposit can sometimes get you back on the track. So, my advice is: if you want to keep the VIP status, you should deposit at least occasionally. That way the casino will know you're a serious and loyal player, and they'll know to appreciate that.
Thank you cat for the advice!!! It is very true....you slack and players don't reap the rewards. But what i do wonder is how long is "too long"? If a player does not play for a week are they dropped down in status?
For example at land casinos when you achieve VIP status it is good for one year before under review again. Just seems to me online casinos drop down status pretty quickly.
Yeah, it seems so. Well, I guess it also depends on how much time and money you have already spent in a casino. It's not the same if you acquired your VIP status a month ago, and you instantly stopped depositing and started playing only with free chips, or if you've been a loyal player for a year or two, depositing relatively regularly throughout the period. In the first case, they'll know you're not serious, and they'll probably cut you off the list pretty quickly. In the second case, however, you've built up a reputation, and it may take months, sometimes even years before the casino gives up on you and stops awarding you with free chips.
However, I don't think there is a clear time frame after which your VIP status gets reconsidered. I guess it's all up to the casino management, and how often they revise their players. As far as I know, some do it quite often, especially with worthy players , and some do it rarely .
Thanks cat for shedding some light on it for me. You have been very helpful in understanding how it all works!!
