Your strategy

2 replies • Last post

I took non cashable 600% bonus at betphoenix casino yesterday with 25x in playthru. I bet big at the begining, $2 per spin, hope to win big and grind it out later. I won up to $1k at one time and still won $500 when I had only $1500 left in playthru. I hit nothing since then, didnt matter if I changed different slots, I tried to play low variance slots, but it didnt matter, it just sucked out slowly my balance and finally I cashed out only $250. I should have left the game when I still won at $500 and come back a day or 2 later to complete the playthru (this strategy worked out for me before), but it's hard to do, I was thinking, only $1500 left in playthru, I get it done in 30 min, lol.
has this ever happened to you when you are about to make playthru and your balance are gone right after?

what is your best strategy against it?

taaadaaahhh there isn't much you can do about hitting a bad run in that situation but I can think of a couple of things. Taking a break for a couple of days could sure help just to reduce the urge to finish quickly, which can often mean making a bad decisions. Reduce your bet size to the minimum can also smooth out variance as you will have more spins to even out the good and bad runs.

vivid, there is definitely a right way to play video slots. The strategy depends on the game of course and even the paytable which can vary between casinos on the same game.

For example a jacks or better strategy that returns 99.46% is this (play whatever is highest on the list):

1. 4 of a kind, straight flush, royal flush
2. 4 to a royal flush
3. 3 of a kind, straight, flush, full house
4. 4 to a straight flush
5. 2 pair
6. High pair
7. 3 to a royal flush
8. 4 to a flush
9. Low pair
10. 4 to an outside straight
11. 2 suited high cards
12. 3 to a straight flush
13. 2 unsuited high cards (if more than 2 then pick the lowest 2)
14. Suited 10/J, 10/Q, or 10/K
15. One high card
16. Discard everything

You can practice on our free jacks or better game.

Full credit for that strategy goes to the wizard of odds who has information on heaps of different video poker games. He's a bit of a mathematical guru as far as casino games are concerned.
