World Cup of Slots Tournament at 32 Red

6 replies • Last post

32 Red are running a series of tournaments called the World Cup of Slots. Its loosely structured like the real World Cup of football.. i.e qualifier tournament, group stage, quarter finals, semi finals and finals.

The qualifier is on now and is free to enter - but it ends in around 9 hours time so be quick. I am an it and made the top 50 (continued play once) which should get me a $75 bonus if I stay in the top 50. Here is a nice hit that I got .. 5 tomb raiders:

I ended up with a £50 bonus and entry to the next stage of the tournament.

So I tried out Thunderstruck II with the bonus money and hit a £100 win on my third spin. Happy days

Happy days indeed! I love that slot. It was always one of my favorites, I of course have not had the chance to play Thunderstruck ll. How do you like that one verse the original one? Also what is the difference tween the two?

Thunderstruck II is ... hmm how can I say ... they have put a lot of thought into how to get players to play it more and for longer. For example the paytable keeps a record of which line wins you have successfully spun and it also keeps a record of bonus rounds and stuff that you unlock as you play, even if you come back to the game at a later date.

You can see my paytable below. Lines I have spun are highlighted in yellow. It looks like it does not record a line on the paytable if you complete it with a wild, which was how I got my 5 Thors win (500 on the paytable).

So if you're an obsessive completionist then maybe you might want to steer clear hehe Wink

To be honest I haven't really played the first Thunderstruck much so I can't really compare it, except to say this new one has far better graphics and the features above, and it pays using the "243 ways" system instead of 9 paylines of the old one. It just means that the winning symbols can match on any position left to right as long as they are on consecutive reels.

So I qualified for the quarter finals of the World Cup of Slots. It was fairly easy actually - in the "group stage" I was in a tournament of only around 65 people and the top 50 qualified for the next round.

Very cool looking Thunderstruck with 243 ways. Are there other slots that have this system? I wonder how well received it is by players or how well they understand it.

Congrats on your quarter finals..........oh yeahhhh!!

There are quite a few slots with now paylines that pay 243 ways.

Microgaming released one a few weeks back called Soccer Safari. They also have another couple called Burning Desire and Alaskan Fishing.

Wagerworks casinos have one called Triple Fortune Dragon.

But none of those accept Americans! I am not aware of any RTG or Rivals that pay 243 ways.

I am sure the game designers have it worked out that you are no better off without paylines, but I like the fact that if you see 5 symbols on 5 reels you win the prize irrespective of whether they line up. Its much simpler.
