To take the deposit bonus or not?

4 replies • Last post

Hiya CL members,

I am wondering how most people feel about taking a deposit bonus. Do you prefer to make a straight deposit with no bonus or take a bonus as often as you can?

I like to take turns with deposit bonuses. Sometimes i will take them and sometimes i won't. I personally like deposit bonuses if the terms are good. If the WR are 20x's or less i will take it. I have won on deposit bonuses and made the playthrough more than once. I think it is also important to know what the max cashout is as well. Nothing could be worse than to win a lot of cash only to find out your limited to certain amount to withdrawal.

Taking the bonus also gives us more play time and that is part of the thrill too!! We all want to get as much bang out of our buck as possible! This is especially nice when your making small deposits and are on a budget.

Has anyone had any luck with making the playthrough and cashed out or do you avoid them all together?

I've taken a lot of bonuses in my time. I am the same as you though now, sometimes I do, sometimes I don't - but never when the wagering is more than 30xB (30 times the bonus amount). I'll only really do a bonus now if its small or I am looking for a good profit opportunity, otherwise if I'm just playing for a bit of fun then I don't want to be locked in to bonus conditions so I don't take it.

BTW when we rank bonuses in our lists one of the factors we take into account is wagering - and anything with more than 30xB is penalised while a bonus with less than that gains a boost. Before we revamped our bonus ranking system we used to have some awesome looking 2000% bonuses at the top of our lists. But when you saw the wagering requirements were something like 100xB then you realised they actually sucked, so we had to fix it.

i dont mind taking a small bonus because the way i figure it gives me some extra spins which means more chances of hitting the big one! i am still working on that though Joking

i only recently found out about the bonuses that limit your winnings and i think they stink. it would be just my luck to finally win a million and then find out that i can only withdraw $2000. so thanks to you guys for telling us when a bonus has those limits on them. do you think you could maybe make it more obvious in the bonus list pages because at the moment i have to go into the review page to check?

Totally understand you there kabean ... I can understand the casinos wanting to protect themselves when giving away free chips, but limiting your wins on a deposit bonus is ridiculous.

It is a good suggestion about the bonus lists. We'll see what we can do about making that information more obvious - for now you can usually see any limits by mousing over the bonus in the list and reading the tooltip that pops up.
