William Hill - Percentage of wins lowers when increasing betting amount

5 replies • Last post

Hi there,

I would like to share with you my impression about william hill casino club.
I am a conservative player. I did a deposit of 50 euro and got a bonus of 75 euro, so my initial amount of money was 125 euro.
I played there about a month and the total money i played was 20.000 euro.

I played mainly Blackjack, Carribean poker, Texas Hold em and European Roulette.

In all the games i mention above i found out and i confirmed that everytime:
1. i was using doubling betting method or
2. i was increasing my betting more than 200% comparing to the initial betting
the percentage of wins was noticably lowering!

Example 1 - Blackjack
I was playing Blackjack with 0.50 - 2.00 euro betting and the card values after 100 plays of me and the dealer was about 50% - 50%. Untill then i had got about 10 euro earnings.
Then i decided to increase my initial bet to 5 - 10 euro. Then in the next 25 plays the dealer got
5 Blackjacks,
5 times 21ones,
7 times 17,18,19,20,
4 times bellow 17 but i had 12 or 13 and my 3rd card was more than 9, soi bused all the four times !!!
1 time the dealer busted - and that was my one and only win.
Just to add 3 times i didn't bet for second time.
.
Example 2 - Carribean poker
When playing carribean poker with initial bet 0.50 - 2.00 euro, the card values was 50% - 50%. When i was increasing the bet more that 5 euro or when i was using doubling betting play method, the card values were at least 60% to the dealer and 40% for me, and many times had good cars like straight or flush the dealer had nothing so i wasn't getting any earnings.

I would like to ask the fellows in this forum two questions:
1 - if someone have also observed such differences on percentages and
2 - if this kind of differences are a matter of the casino or a matter of software.

The software that uses William Hill Casino Club is "Playtech".

Thank you
Good gambling and nice earnings.

well I mostly play slots and William Hill is not one of the Casinos I would trust with my hard earned money any way since they do not have a good enough star rating on this page. So what you are saying might very well be tru but I dobut if it goes for the rest of serious Playtech casinos out there.. Hard to think so..

Yes we are not big fans of William Hill here, but I don't think they are cheating you. If what you are saying was possible then it would be possible at every other casino that uses Playtech software and we have not seen any solid evidence of anything like that happening elsewhere. The individual casinos don't have the ability to alter the game outcomes or random number generator - so if you indeed had found a casino cheating you then they all could be doing it.

However I myself have played a lot of Blackjack at Playtech casinos, at various bet sizes such as the ones you have detailed, and never seen anything that I thought was out of the ordinary. Sure, I have had losing runs and it can be frustrating but that happens.

The problem here is that you have an extremely small sample size. 25 hands is far too small to be conclusive, especially when you have increased your bet as a percentage of your bankroll - the higher that percentage the greater the variance you will see. There is also more information needed - are you using basic strategy and sticking to it no matter what, or are you making decisions on whether to hit based on gut instinct?

The last piece of advice is that if you don't feel comfortable or are frustrated playing at a casino (even though I don't believe you're being cheated) take your business elsewhere as there are plenty of other casinos to choose from!

Thank you for your replies,

I just want to say i didn't accused anyone, just wrote what happened.

I just want to ask two questions if somebody can inform me:
1 - The software of playtech (and fenerally all gambling softwares) is the same in all casinos that is running or it can be edited on demand?
2 - The gambling software is running on servers of the software company that made the programm or on online casino servers?
3 - How possible is that a programmer or hacker if you like can change the odds of the fambling software?

Thank you in anticipation

1. Playtech software is the same at every casino that uses it.
2. This can vary between different software suppliers, but I believe Playtech runs on the individual casino's servers.
3. Extremely difficult but nothing is impossible. They would need to have access to the server that the software and random number generator runs on. Then they would need to be able to reverse engineer and alter the code that provides the random results, and do it in a way that the software does not know that it has been tampered with (i.e. it is likely signed with digital signatures and other protection measures). This sort of thing would require extremely sophisticated skills, so it as extremely unlikely, but like I said not impossible.
