Mini Jackpot..??

24 replies • Last post

I was playing an online tourney, (one of those penny tournaments ) then suddenly I hit the mini jackpot. Am I entitled to my winnings? The live chat representative said no.... 😢

I would think no but I have no idea. If you can't claim it why did it show up on your screen? I'm sure Cl-Ed can answer this for you. How much was the mini jackpot if you don't mind me asking?

Oh my gosh, this is strange, because I was just wondering about that, too, when I was playing at tournament just yesterday. I wondered why it even showed the jackpot when we were in the tournament, because I didn't think we could win it, anyway. But then why would it pop up on YOUR specific screen if we can only win the minors and majors when playing our regular games/play?

That would be about my luck to win a random jackpot when it didn't count. I still don't think that is right of them to do to someone though! 😢

I cannot wait to hear what CL-Ed has to say about this one.

BTW, Youbetcha, I LOVE your screen name. lol That is creative and a good one.

I'm waiting to see what Cl-Ed has to say too. It seems like if you were playing the free tournament then you wouldn' t qualify. I wondered this though while I was playing the other day too. It would be wonderful if you got to win it since it splashed on your screen.

Well, I understand why they show it on the game, because they probably can't take it off, but I do NOT understand why they would allow a random jackpot to show up as WON during a free tournament if one doesn't qualify during that time, anyway. That part makes no sense to me.

You definitely won't get to keep it. Anything you win in a tournament is just tournament money.

Do you mind mentioning which casino and game you were playing Ubetcha?

I think the more relevant questions are why are they playing a progressive jackpot game in a tournament? And if the jackpot is won in the tournament, does this affect all players outside the tournament? i.e. did that mini jackpot reset to $100 or whatever after you won it for everyone else playing with real money? If so, that isn't right as it means the casino avoided paying out the jackpot.

I played an online penny tournament @ the Club World Casino yesterday, it was a Triple Twister. I noticed the minor jackpot did reset after the pop out screen came out telling me "Congratulations" you won this amount... After I finished my game, I immediately contacted the live chat & the representative told me: "sorry but tournaments are subject to wagering only and winnings are only in accordance with your position in the tournament so even if you hit jackpot you only get the amount relating to the position you are in". Thank you so much for looking into it.

Aha so it was one of their games with the random progressive jackpots. They are correct that you aren't entitled to win the jackpot but it would be good to know if the amount is reset for everyone or only those playing the tournament. Its hard to tell though unless you went back into the game in real money mode and checked whether the jackpot had dropped there too.

Actually I had a thought - next time you fire up a tournament, before you do so go into the tournament game in real money mode and write down the value of the jackpots. Then enter the tournament and see if the jackpot values in the tournament game match. If they don't (and my hunch is that they won't) then the jackpots during the tournament will be separate from the real money ones. And they will likely increase very rapidly with everyone playing the tournament with an inflated number of chips.

The bottom line is you can't really expect to be paid a random jackpot during a tournament in which you paid (for example) $1 to get $2000 worth of chips, when everyone else contributing to the jackpot was paying a full $1 for each chip in real money play.

I just checked this myself. 2 screenshots are attached. The first is the game Texan Tycoon in real money mode, and the 2nd is the same game in tournament mode about 10 seconds later.

You can see that in tournament mode the random jackpot is different. This means that when you won the random jackpot it would not have affected anyone else in real money mode, but all those playing the tournament would have seen the jackpot drop which is exactly how it should work. Also note that in tournament mode your balance is denominated in "Credits" with no $ symbol, and the same applies to the jackpot.

It all looks above board to me.

BTW, one more thing.. I was only a top 300+ on that game. I would think the mini jackpot points/chips (not the money) I hit should be credited to my tournament score. Why not?

I think so too. You should get something out of hitting the money-less jackpot!

I'd be surprised if it wasn't added to your tournament score. Maybe you didn't notice as $400 isn't that much when you are playing the tournament at $100 a spin?

I still don't understand, CL-Ed, and now especially if we have learned they are different, why they even HAVE a progressive going during a tournament? I am not comprehending why that would even make sense?

It is probably built into the game so they just run with it. If every spin during the tournament adds to the progressive then I can't see anything wrong with it - its just a different way of adding to your score if you're lucky enough to win it.

I could see how easily this could happen. The score changes so fast.

Oh, so it CAN be added to the tournament score? I could see that making a little more sense. lol Funny this was posted, because one day when I was playing in a tournament, I was honestly wondering about why they had the minor and the major up on the tournament, but I figured it just could not be removed from the game and that it would never go off during tournament time.

Then, I thought, but if it COULD it would be just my luck to win the random jackpot during tournament time.

Keep trying Ubetcha! Maybe next time it will be during regular play and you can buy the couch of your dreams! 🍷

I agree with you guys.. I could have not seen that it was already added to my pot 'cause it happened so fast. & also I was concentrating on my spin. Oh well, I'll try again my luck next time. Thank you all! 🌹

I'm glad you brought the situation up. I would have never guessed that is how they award the jackpot but makes sense. I am learning a lot from this site.
