Any Poker Players?

4 replies • Last post

Hi Everyone!

When I first arrived to Casino Listings, I had only played mainly in poker rooms. How much has changed since then, lol!

I played mainly Texas Hold'em, and I was really hooked for a while, but I never deposited my money. I always played in free rooms and on free sites. One time, a poker room sent me a free ten bucks through email, so I played in the penny rooms for months on that, but I never deposited my own, hard-earned funds.

Since I have been away from the poker world for so long now, plus with all the changes and restrictions in regard to U.S. Players, not to mention "ponzi schemes," I am wondering which poker rooms you all would recommend.

What are you favorite sites to play poker? Where do you enjoy playing and why?

AND

If you want to share: how much do you usually deposit and how much do you usually bet?

My favourite site used to be Full Tilt. That turned out well didn't it!

Since that shut down I haven't really played much, mainly because of work and family commitments not giving me much free time. I prefer playing tournaments but the big ones take so long to complete I can't spare the time to play them.

I mainly played low stakes around 10c/25c and occasionally 25c/50c (?) or so. I don't like the ultra low stakes games as everyone seems to be in every pot when you're playing for pennies and it becomes a bit of a lottery.

Always play it safe! Consult our list of rogue casinos and warnings before depositing at a new casino.
Post in our forums to earn CLchips which can be used to buy real prizes in our CLchips shop.

I know what you mean about the low stakes games. That happens at the free tournaments, too, where everyone goes "all in" with the first hand, because if they lose they can just hop into another tournament.

Yup. Full tilt. lol

I also know what you mean about the time consuming nature of even the "sit and go" tournaments.

Do you have a poker site you could now recommend, CL-Ed? Not sure if I have the time either, but it might be fun to play a game or two, just for old time's sake. 🙂

For you, being in the US I would probably check out Bodog (or Bovada as they are now calling themselves). I used to play there a bit too and found the games to be fairly loose which made it easier to win.

Thank you, CL-Ed. I always forget about them for some reason. I will have to put them on my list for when I get the "poker bug." I would say for when I am snowed in, but we are having an incredibly mild winter, which has been GREAT! 🙂

Thanks, again! 🙂
